Wait let me think, MS does decided to rewrite ie without relying on chromium but then went with chromium idk why.

They realized chrome can track more data than their own version.

I'm guessing because it's easy to merge in or port the updates so it's less $ for them

That was one of the reason, I don't remember it was on a press release the reason they dropped that. It was related to windows 10 initial release.

    chrome is trash.

    Would like a word.

Aight the ie, edge is trash compared to ie.

Have to disagree. Imo, "Edge is only slightly better than IE" is the correct statement.

I hate edge, didn't liked ie that much, but edge is something I really hate because of chromium forkness, i.e. was their own inhouse product.

I understand. But, who cares! Both IE and Edge have historically served one purpose, i.e., to download Chrome/Firefox. Edge does it marginally better than IE.

Well browser have to be browser no matter what you use for, for some safari is hateful but not for all, I love how safari works.

Never used Safari before. Used only for testing purposes when I heard it was support for WebApp cache.

I like it's rendering engine, it's pretty fast and spot on.

Might have to try it out. Is it better than Firefox, on Windows though?

Unless you set a master password, Firefox is no better. Even than if someone got you to run an info stealer, it could still be in your PC as a keylogger, or just waiting for the passwords to be decrypted. I just recommend KeePass or bitwarden.

I see. I first decided to move to Firefox after hearing of the privacy concerns, esp. after someone discovered Chrome was storing passwords in accessible formats. But, since then, have stayed away from Chrome.

Well I am still using Firefox since 2016 so can't refute that.

I next want to try custom Chromium builds.

    Make one, launch noob browser.

    Always returns 404 :p

For me yeah, it's certainly faster with some websites but the overall performance is kinda similar.

I use Chrome and Firefox, really depends on what I'm doing. Like all social media/etc. is in chrome.

Chrome for social media is pretty self-contradictory, right? Lmk if I am missing something.

Unless you set a master password, Firefox is no better. Even than if someone got you to run an info stealer, it could still be in your PC as a keylogger, or just waiting for the passwords to be decrypted. I just recommend KeePass or bitwarden.

Well yeah, but firefox is still better for my use case, chrome is just hogger.

My first favourite browser was Opera. It was awesome with the mouse right click short cuts etc.. But somehow they are out of race.

Still use Opera for its VPN, when I have to quickly test geo-related code I am developing. When it began, Opera was preferred for its builtin Torrent downloader.

You are forgetting the 404. Gotta find a purpose for that. Wait, got one. Visiting any 18+ website on the Noob browser will throw a 404 followed by 303 redirection to RN's BF thread.

Oh man. Those times, when 1GB of DDR was the holy grail, when an 8400GS was every kid's dream.
