It appears Eco is being shut, this is from Octave (previously questioning why Eco was removed from the main website).

"nope. on l'a retiré. dans qq semaines kimsufi.com va
revenir et ca sera + simple :)"

    Translates to:

"Nope. We removed it. In a few weeks, kimsufi.com will be back and it will be simpler :)"

    Wow!!

This is huge. Will it all still user the current management interface and API?

What will happen to SYS and Rise?

So many other questions I can't think of right now.

  • I have since further spoken to Mr Klaba

    I asked (Google Translate <3):

    • FR: Allons-nous donc revenir à des panneaux de commande séparés ?
    • EN: Are we going back to separate control panels?

    He Replied:

    • FR: nope. le meme système de commande, un manager qui
fait zoom sur les offres de bare metal only, si tu veux
tous les produits, cliquelà et tu vas basculer sur le gros
      manager all-product.

    • EN: Nope. Same ordering system, a manager that
zooms in on the bare metal only offers, if you want
all products, click there and you'll switch to the main
      all-product manager.

    and

    • EN: The goal is to better showcase highly specific offers on satellite sites—offers that are great but that people need to know about. These will simply be commercial sites with the order process and manager hosted on OVHcloud, but in a "bare metal only" version. This will make them easier to use.

I have to congratulate Google for translating very well Octave's ghetto french!

Although 'panneau de commande' can mean both control panel and ordering panel. Octave understood the latter.

Thanks, this is more clear now, seems like they want to have a mix of the old way having seperate website and new way everything merged into ovh.

Still quite a lot of questions for now, and "few weeks", they want to take their time; there is not much stock anyway for the most interesting products

I hope I'm wrong, but when you see on pcpartpicker price trends that the memory, disks price is still increasing day by day, companies saying still 1-3 years to go, I don't think we will ever see those prices again. My KS-LE-2 lottery is still gonna be the gold for me and the foreseeable future...

it will be like covid, price increased, and after, almost never got back to the original pricing.

  • @Platonks said: it will be like covid, price increased, and after, almost never got back to the original pricing.

OVH is actually the only company that increased by 10% due to energy crisis and reduced by that again about two/three years later - but only for new orders, not the ones that got the 10% increase price hike.

This actually kinda makes sense with the current and future hardware prices rocketing... Keep all the old hardware under a seperate brand with stable pricing.

  • They see eco is many times out of stock, but they want advertise and sell new hardware, so it makes sense to show them on main site, while get all eco ranges in background.

  • I'm scared. Might bite the bullet and switch my LE-Bs to annual

I guess this shows that they keep selling machines in the range through the page.

  • New navbar indicates focus on public cloud, as the order changed and the layout itself. Will be interesting to see the new changes and lineup to kimsufi.com coming soon.

In the end more complicated or slower than before. But will see, what happening.
