Haven't been on the [Redacted's] website for a few days, but just now I noticed what looks like a good deal on a Ryzen dedicated, bare metal server:

[Redacted] says:

OUR GAME PLAN FOR EURO 2024:
NO SETUP FOR SELECTED SERVERS.
Save the setup fee on AX42 and managed servers until the EURO final on 14 July.

AX42 Details:

No-Setup-Special

starting from € 46.00 max/mo.

CPU: AMD Ryzen™ 7 PRO 8700GE Octa-Core Phoenix 1 (Zen4)
RAM: 64 GB DDR5 ECC
NVMe SSD: 2 x 512 GB (Gen 4)

I'm still holding a EX43 with an i5 12500. I'm curious how this would compare to the Ryzen 7 8700GE? The old EX43 is around ~10 Euro cheaper.

    Why is hetzner being redacted?

I jokingly suggested to crunchbits that I should not mention [redacted] while I have a free Crunchbits server. :D

    Sorry, don't know. I haven't yet tried the AX42. :)

Could you please suggest a good tool to create VMs on AX42 dedicated server.

I would like to split server into four VMs with ipv4 NAT.

    Thanks so much

If you like command line, I vote for bashvm. Open source, installs VMs and takes care of both IPv4 NAT and IPv6, almost automagically. :) Very friendly developer, @babywhale. Tested on Debian and on Ubuntu.

If you prefer Proxmox GUI, [Redacted] installimage offers a hidden, "unsupported" super fast Proxmox install that seemed to work when I tried it.

Good luck! Have fun! If you do get an AX42, please post a yabs! If you do use bashvm, please consider supporting the project if/as you are able.

    Greatly appreciated.

I am going to try bashvm and will share my experience and feedback.

    Thanks to @babywhale as well.

I learned a new word automagically and will be using it. :)

PS - English is not my second language. It is actually, third.

  • Has anyone succeeded in passing the iGPU of a 8700G/E to a VM?
Or do you have to use the server without a hypervisor in order to benefit from it‘s iGPU?

This is a very good offer yeah. I think they removed setup fees because of the new Ryzen 9000 series launching next month. What do you think Oles?
