Singapore based Business - Computer Hardware Retailer - Looking to change Webhost

edited May 2024 in Requests

Hi everyone, Pretty new here and quite a newbie in Webhost tech.

Singapore based business -- currently hosted with A2hosting -- VPS (LIFT4 2022) - Singapore DC, their webhosting is very slow... -- Looking to change webhost coming Black Fri / Cyber Mon.

Currently 2x CPU core (Intel(R) Xeon(R) Silver 4210R CPU @ 2.40GHz with 4GB Ram with A2hosting)

I just checked my WHM, today its wierd, previously the actual CPU speed was higher, but today's at 1227.978 MHz and 1328.027 MHz respectively.
A refresh just now, showed the speeds : 2900.097 MHz, 2899.951 MHz.... WIERD....

Any recommendations for a value Webhost? -- VPS or Reseller hosting for our requirements below :

  • 3x Cpanel Accounts -- 2 is simple site and email only. 1 is heavily used Woocommerce (currently using close to 70GB space and 1.9GB Database) -- the Space used will be increasing as we are still adding new products' photos every now and then.
  • CPU -- looking to up the requirements to 4Core @ 3Ghz if possible with 6GB and above RAM.
  • Space: Ideally 100GB minimum
  • Bandwidth : Anything higher than 2TB per month.

I am open with Reseller hosting with Litespeed to help with the loading speed of the Woocommerce. -- For Woocommerce Cpanel, has to be 4GB ram and min 2 CPU Core to be allocated.
OR Managed VPS - with Cpanel and Litespeed
OR Self-Managed VPS (Cloud or not) with Rocky Linux 9 to use with Scalahosting's Spanel.io $19.95 Full managed service -- (OpenLightspeed can be installed from Spanel)
- VPS has to be billed Annually and not monthly. -- We prefer to prepay minimum of 2 years also.

Total budget for the above -- Around USD 46 per month -- maximum.

I have considered VPSServer.com (run by Kamatera) -- billed monthly, Vultr (too bad its Monthly billed, admin nightmare for our small business), Stablepoint (Reseller hosting), OVHCloud....

OVHCloud is out definitely. Stablepoint, anything above 30pounds is expensive -- I am literally stuck.... Trying to look for a reliable hosting for the business is daunting task!

Thank you.

Regards
GeekGal

@GeekGal We have unmanaged KVM VPS in Singapore. Let me know if you are interested in it.

    Regular Plans: https://my.kuroit.com/store/singapore-sg-vps-servers

    Looking Glass/Test IP: https://sg.lg.kuroit.com

You can use KURO2024 for 24% discount.

If you are looking for something custom specification, then let me know; we can also offer that.

Thanks. Let me check for reviews first. Hehe. Looking glass on ur Singapore server is impressive! Even less ms than my A2hosting!

  • Problem is I am deciding between VPS and Reseller.... VPS seems very expensive to use especially Managed services

@ManishPant Do you also offer Managed VPS? I do not know how well will Spanel.io fully managed service work with Self-managed VPS also.

    Dilemma...

The reason for this is because CPUs decrease clocks whenever they aren't in use. So if the web hosting node isn't under load, then the CPU doesn't need to boost its clock speed. Perfectly normal.

  • Speedypage bro, maybe try asking support if got space, I run couple of local sites and blazing fast, better than the local hosts.

It is the woo that is slowing down, no matter where it is hosted it is going to be slow.

That is why we need to try upgrade within budget USD 42 / month. - -with VPS / VDS / Reseller Hosting.... I was hoping to use Reseller hosting so its going to be cheaper to manage... as having VPS with Cpanel and Litespeed is going to cost the roof for us.

    Thanks.

At the moment, they are out of stock for Sg VPS. But if VPS or VDS, I will preferably require full managed service.

    How about their support leadtime?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

We can offer server management service, but it will be expensive, and we don't have experience with spanel.io. We can offer it with cpanel, directadmin, hestiacp, or aapanel only. I saw they offer full server management service plan as well, so I will recommend you take the management service from them since they know their panel well and we can take care of the network and hardware.

  • Why does it need to be in Singapore ? Can you not use CloudFlare ?

You what!? The title literally says they are a Singapore based business, so it has to be there for a reason, and they didn't mention anything of Cloudflare, it's their choice to have a CDN solution or not.

For what reason ? It would be much cheaper to use a CDN and just something like Hetzner. Doesnt make sense in my eyes to use a singapore based webhost for a simple website or webshop.

  • But if you really looking for a cheap solution:

its uncluded with CPanel as well

    Monthly

Next time read the details before jumping to conclusions. Since OP requires the server to be in a Singapore based DC, I would say the reason is latency. Might just be a management hell when you have to manage both the CDN and the server, in which the (free) CDN is very redundant here. Personally if I were OP, I would buy the server locally instead of buying a server halfway around the world and then setting up the CDN. There's not much price difference anyway. People have their choices.
