need Frankfurt/Bielefeld/Hessen VPS with excellent connectivity (and some tipps on wireguard)

Specs I want:

  • CPU: does not matter 1 or 2 cores is fine
  • IPv4: mandatory, ip must be clean. No blacklists or BS
  • IPv6: mandatory, ip must be clean. No blacklists or BS
  • RAM: 1gb minimum
  • Storage: SSD (duh?) 60gb would be good, but 30gb is okay
  • Software: let me self-install my linux (ubuntu prob)
  • Privacy: no shitty software installed, no spying oki?
  • Bandwidth: minimum 1TB
  • Location: in Hessen, Germany
  • Networking: minimum 250/100 always there. Preferred 10gig shared or 1gig dedicated, I don’t really care tbh, flexible. i want all ports open, will be used primarily for wireguard/openvpn, there will be lots of requests to private adresses. if you peer with vodafone then even better (more info below)
  • uptime: 99.86% I allow you 12h per year of downtime.
  • deadpool/exit scam: please let me know 8 days before server is gone so I can pull my data. an email is enough, will be kept confidential.
  • Your Company: you must be in business for at least 2 years. I don’t want some shitty/sketchy stuff. Be legit please. I'll do a quick google, let please give 2 cents on the sellers if you see.
  • test ip: yes, i want to test my ping
  • Recurring: yes, duh?

my traceroute/peers i'd like to see with low ping, connected near me:
81.210.141.33 ASN 3209 Bielefeld
84.116.190.34 ASN 6830 Brussels

cost:
2-5€ monthly
Charge me at 2nd using paypal and you’ll get the money every time. (any other paying plan I dislike) Card is possible but not preferred.

usecase:
my ISP (Vodafone) does not allow port forwarding so i'm planning to use this VPS as wireguard to my homenetwork, unsure how. Tailscale does not work how i want, i want wireguard, just wireguard app
also dedicated open port to some things, again unsure how :/ but yeah

Do you get a real IP or only CGNAT?

Any possibility ICMP is blocked on these IPs?

Vodafone offers a dedicated/static IP at 5€ per month or so, but I'd also use something external to have all ports available.
    Bielefeld is not in Hessen.
Best choice for Vodafone is usually something in Frankfurt or Düsseldorf.

    Affiliated crystal ball foretells:

    • Layer7 — €3.28 / month
    • 2 Intel vCores
    • 8192 MB RAM
    • 80 GB NVMe
    • 51200 GB/month bandwidth
    • 1.0 Gbps port speed
    • IPv4 + IPv6
    • Frankfurt

The other bunch are all from Germany too.

Yeah, i couldn't get them to ping too but traceroute obviously still works.

There are a lot of good providers for Frankfurt which can offer your specs.
At Hosmatic we can offer this for €2.95/month in Maincubes FRA01:

    vCores: 1 (Epyc 9454P)
    Storage: 25 GB (NVMe)
    RAM: 2 GB (DDR5)
    Backups: 3
    Fair use traffic (~1TB @ 2.5Gbit/s)
    IPv4 addresses: 1
    IPv6 network: 1x /64

The host is connected with 2 x 10Gbit/s LACP.
We can also provide customised configurations if interested.

Why can't you do port forwarding? Router or something else?

Im behind NAT and the router they gave me is a üiece of shit, cant even change subnet mask...

  • I'm interested to learn that tailscale/wiregaurd thing as well, let me know if anyone knows how to set that up.

I'm also looking for a VPS in Delhi location, guess I gotta go with Vultr/Digital Ocean as I have not seen any other provider offering it here.

Maybe worth calling your ISP and telling them you need to use a VPN and it isn't working.
Chances are high they will enable a IPv4 for you, instead of GCNAT, for free.

Regarding the shitty router, also worth calling your ISP, mark your contract for termination.
Just say your are not satisfied, especially with the shit router.

Call the magic number next day, you probably will get a decent router that allows your port Forwarding for free included instead of paying for it monthly.

    Replacement is probably free too.
Google for your ISP, what the offers others got, so you have a reference baseline.

Possibly if you have another router, put that thing into bridge mode.
Should make it possible to change your IPv4 by changing the Router WAN mac address.

Should bypass all the limited shit on the cable router too, since your Router will handle it.

Exactly that. I luckily don't have to deal with this but in general it's pretty annoying how these days it's practically always a modem-rooter combo. Separating those things is way more flexible as it allows for getting/building a nice router while just replacing modems as needed for the current requirements.

There is a law in the EU where all isp gave to give you a real ipv4 address if you request it. Is there any chance Vodafone can set the if shitty router into bridge mode and you get a real router?

if youre a wireguard fan, our cloud could also be interesting.

We provide for each project a isolated private network accessable through wireguard ;)

the website is complicated and all i get is "get in touch" plus not really a fan of closed course

Thank you for the feedback! We will try to improve the Situation!

Youre correct, without a registration its hard to see details.

Theres a demo button, a little hidden in the page:

    https://athorio.cloud/account/login?demo=true&returnUrl=/projects&l=en

Maybe that helps you to get a little better insights. If you want to explore more, just drop us a pm :)

Why can't you do port forwarding? Router or something else?

Im behind NAT and the router they gave me is a üiece of shit, cant even change subnet mask...

    @DeadlyChemist
There is a law in the EU where all isp gave to give you a real ipv4 address if you request it. Is there any chance Vodafone can set the if shitty router into bridge mode and you get a real router?

    Please show us this law.

not a fan of it for my project, it's going to be too big and too expensive
    however i found a bug:
projects -> demo -> vpn -> + -> insert any name and submit
it gets submitted and saved but the popup does not close, so submitting 2nd time gives you " Name already in use"

maybe hire me for bugtesting or something lmao, tho im worried i might break something lol (tempted to try to sql injections and just talk directly to your api)
+1 for your use of JWT tokens

    Please show us this law.

    Austria for example:
    https://www.rtr.at/TKP/was_wir_tun/telekommunikation/konsumentenservice/faq/FAQ_oeffentliche_IP-adresse.de.html

If you ask them by mail they will tell you that a nat ipv4 is not enough. Isps have to give you a ipv4 if you request it.
