What is the difference between a VPS and a VDS?
I think it's when something on the VPS is dedicated so then it gets labeled VDS. I could be wrong =/
With VDS, cpu vCores are dedicated.
VPS, cpu vCores are shared
I dont think 4 dedicated cpu cores are necessary. vps should be fine!
VPS: https://lowend-deals.xbit.win/#vps-high-spec (HostBrr and Layer7 deals are no brainers)
VDS: https://lowend-deals.xbit.win/#vds
Some links are aff.
And how did you make that determination without knowing the use case?
He just mentioned 8GB RAM naa.... so that does not quite justify with 4dedicated cores!
Thanks for the mention @dev_vps !
@AlexBarakov @labze @HostEONS
You should try Avoro ( @dataforest ), the EPYC Rootservers.
Hi,
probably you will be fine with:

—using ffmpeg on VPS may require dedicated cores
Please include cpu kind as well.
Ryzen has wide spectrum with regards to cpu computing power
Server-factory.com VDS are the best value.
Yup that can consume a lot of CPU power!

6 vCores without cpu kind is meaningless
2 vCores Ryzen 7950x is much better than 6 vCores Xeon E5-1680v2
We do not Use E5-1680v2 if you had a service from us you would know the CPU's we use.
there is no need to slam every post we comment on
@Jasonhyperhost
That was just a hypothetical example to highlight vCore without cpu kind is missing information to get an idea of vps computing power
It would have been simpler and straightforward to include the cpu kind (or range) details.
Asking for questions or clarity on the offer is not a "slam".
VDS or VPS doesn't mean anything.
Everybody sells it as they want.
If you need dedicated CPU cores, look for them.
@Calin
Thanks for mention but for now we have out of stock to all ( all our nodes it's full right now
