There is a bug with network speed.xyz script
Thanks, but I was looking mainly for India.
Maybe a Jio - Chennai and Airtel - Mumbai test?
Most of the server ids weren't working, but here:
Dallas -> Chennai: https://www.speedtest.net/result/c/69259901-5841-4cf4-bbb2-34522ee56493

Order placed and paid. Invoice #: INV-2024-2954
does such information duplicate anything?
If I order annually can disk space be increased? Specifically looking at the 8-core plan. Thanks!
Here you go ....
Per popular request, I have added a 6GB tier to our offerings. The same coupons will apply to either the monthly or annual payment options. I appreciate all of the new services from everyone!
Texas - 6GB

Ohio - 6GB

Signed up a little while ago and so far this VPS is fast. Service response time for tickets is also really quick. I'm very impressed thus far!

Thanks so much! I forgot to turn off VPN. I have created account and ordered. My invoice is INV-2024-2961, but its status is still REVIEW! Please solve for me!
Thanks.

it seems that linveo does not like this script: curl -sL network-speed.xyz | bash -s -- -r eu
@lnx any idea whats wrong?
why wouldn’t it like it? what are you noticing wrong?
it starts, nearest check ok, 1 check in eu ok and then nothing.
can you install windows operating system?
That is a bug with the script, I have mentioned earlier in this thread.
This is not an issue related to VPS.
hmm... really? the script works fine with all my other vps. testet the script with @dataforest @layer7 @labze @greencloud e.g.
I can run all speed tests fine but only one a time , but with this script I get error after a few.
Yesterday evening (US time) this script ran fine for India servers. I have shared results in this thread as well
Here is that post with speed test result
the script runs fine. see here:
but there must be an issue with linveo see here: https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/3937610/#Comment_3937610
Check again ….
I see so many FAILED
Nothing is being done on the infrastructure side to prevent the run of any scripts. I don't have access to this source code to review what the network test is doing, so I can't really say outside of what we have control over.
This is not issue with script, it is a rate limiting mechanism which was introduced by Ookla a few months back. Nothing I can do to bypass it - Ookla allows only a maximum of 30 (some IPs are allowed 32) tests in an hour from their CLI tool.
The script should handle the limitation of api being used. This is me programmer talking.
Once you know the limitation, script should gracefully handle such conditions.
When this happens, speedtest.nets own cli stops working as well, you’ve simply been rate limited by their service. It’s to prevent abuse. Unlike other benchmarks (ipref even), these are using 100s of GBs of ooklas own bandwidth per test.
I’ve seen the issue @hyperblast is mentioning as well, but only on the Dallas node. It seems to cut off the network when it’s oversaturated.
It is being handled by letting you know the tests failed because of a rate limit by the underlying tool rather than a FAIL message (which was the case earlier). If I hide the remaining tests, there'll be other complaints saying certain areas are not being shown.
This usually happens when you try to run 2 tests back to back, it requires a cool down of an hour before that.
I'm not going to block access if the script has been run previously, that'll again cause complaints.
Sorry @lnx for the derail, if anyone is interested in further discussions, let's talk here - https://lowendspirit.com/discussion/5812/comprehensive-speedtest-script-network-speed-xyz-share-your-bench#latest
that was just an example above (test with @layer7). but the script runs at least until the end and then gives the error (ip has been rate limited).
yabs, for example, with its network speed tests runs on linveo!
by the way, very nice machine in texas @lnx !
Totally agree.
I just finished a stress test load for the database server and the VPS is just amazing.
