@host_c if you want to be fair and choose not to do preorders, you might want to limit orders per customer next time :D. I'm happy with my one instance but this offer seems to be too popular to do it this way.

either way, it's a good problem for you to have! ;)

    thanks for the deal!

Also, if any of you who got the services from the last 2 runs still encountered SSH login problems ( asking for ssh-keys as ssh password was disabled ) with the debain-12 template, give us a ticket when you have time.

    Just a little update.

I will tag @Calin here also as he is in this too :D :D :D

It seems that there is a routing issue between us ( HOST-C) and @calin ( iHostart ).

Apparently RDS-RCS ( our upstream ) does not like to make "love" with Orange ( @calin's ISP)

    Affected sub-net is 89.213.174.0/24

A funny guess is that he's sub-net has so much DMCA and porn, that our ISP does not want to couple/connect without protection :D :D ( my bet is still on porn :D )

Jokes asides, I and @calin are working to solve the issue ASAP.

@host_c My customers download so much porn that the pearing between Orange and RDS start go down

Hopefully @host_c and @Calin can get the pearing sorted out soon as I’ll need to get both servers connected together.

  • Looks like Host_C and Calin's networks do not peer, so all traffic goes via transit, and the cheapest possible transit at that which has a poor path.

Looking forward to a resolution, but until then, tunnelling works :--D

    Surprising all the same
Considering we're all probably moving our files.
In my case, I'm transferring 3TB of files.
By the way, I didn't know that rsync clone was so CPU-intensive, but I'm saturating the CPU.

IO performance varies a lot though.
But given the price and the fact that there must be a lot of people writing mass data.
So I'm rather pleasantly surprised by the quality too.

@remy curious how much speeds are you getting with rsync, and where is the origin server located?
I was doing SCP from NYC to RO, and it took ~12 hours to move 1TB

cpu vCoe utilization, for my VPS, has been under 20%

It's too early but also would say a surprisingly pleasant experience with host C. The value for money is insane. As he mentioned, everyone is hammering the nodes, but I never felt any performance or speed issues throughout - high chance these nodes are balanced and not oversold, didn't see any CPU steal either.

One suggestion, or rather a nit picking would be that I'd have preferred a little more copy paste and done instructions for mounting and formatting the block storage drive. This was a bit new to me so it took me a bit time to format in XFS and get going.

    Overall a very solid experience.
Just waiting for the routing be improved to some regions, but hey that's not in the hands of host C but his upstream.

Good luck @host_c - I hope you have fantastic, well deserved sales.

Adding block storage in windows server OS is simple, right click and assign the letter for the drive.

    Totally agree.
This is going to raise bar for the competition.

Tell me about it. for the moment, I will rather not comment on this :D

Moving would be nice, this is more like throwing all files at once. :D
