Unfortunately, there are no discounts on VLE-4 and VLE-16 in the US.

I wish "KS-GAME-2" had more disk. 240GB is too small :(

I wish KS-4C or KS-3C to come back

I have a VLE-16 in the UK and the performance has dropped dramatically. Literally the old intel elite VPS is scoring better.

How much better is the old Intel?

Also, I guess your sample size is one of each? Really dosen’t say that much tbh

To me the intel is possibly going to be the better option?

From the information you provided, I can see that OVH’s VPS performance dropped too much in half a year.

  • Still waiting for that unicorn legendary offer for SG :D
I thought this was my chance when I read

yep! heck of a drop! these are fresh installs with nothing else running.

  • JosephFJosephF Member

What would cause the performance to drop over time?

I spoke to OVH, raised a ticket and their response was:

Appreciate you coming back to me.

Upon review, your logs indicates that your CPU is currently utilising only 1.4% of its resources, as reflected in the following metrics: %Cpu(s): 1.4 us.

This minimal CPU usage suggests that the system is not under significant load or stress.

Additionally, for production environments, I'd recommend using instances with with fully-guaranteed resources:

    https://www.ovhcloud.com/en-ie/public-cloud/guaranteed-resources/

If you require any further assistance please let us know, we are always happy to help.

The system was a fresh install, so there was no stress, but when it was running I was seeing lots of CPU steal.

My guess it's oversold and not managed very well personally. I have seen more stable results from other providers. Its really bad as well as they boast about the VPS 'reviews' and really if they did another test they would probably see the reduction I have seen.

Just to add the clock speed on intel shows as 2399mhz
    and the AMD shows 2296mhz

    Translation

You are driving at speed of 20 miles/hours, therefore it does not affect you if the highway speed limit is reduced from 80 miles/hour to 40 miles/hour.

Should you feel the need to drive at faster speed, please consider our toll highways that guarantee higher speed access.

The KS boxes honestly would be great if they weren't bandwidth-limited to 100 mbps. They are practically unusable for me since downloading a file from it on my residential connection alone maxes out the whole pipe.

Hell I would happily take 1 Gbps fair usage @ some TB limit (some number less than 100 mbps x 30 days) rather than 100 unmetered...

I understand that network capacity is expensive and Kimsufi range with Gbps full duplex might be a competitor of OVH higher lines (SYS, Rise but mainly Sys), however with the bw increase OVH might be the strongest dedi solution in the EU and CA on low-end line...

I checked Reddit sites from the early 2010s and I saw 100 Mbps BW too so I hoppe that OVH will decide an increase. On SYS line they done that, SYS-5 and higher got 500 Mbps full duplex.
    Any opinion @OVH_APAC ? :)

    2× 480GB SSD SATA

Do you have to commit to one year to get this price?
After the first year is it month to month or another year contract?
Assuming its a yearly contract what happens if you want to leave early?

You do not need to sign a contract for this price. You will get the reduced price until the server lives. However, it is not a fixed contract so OVH can increase price with notification but it is very rare.
