    Hello!

Ubuntu's MOTD is telling us "*** System restart required ***".

Does everybody have everything backed up? :)

Any issues with a reboot, maybe about 00:00 UTC Thursday April 11?

    Hi @shahriar!

Thanks for your interest in Crunchy!

I took a look at your profile here at LET plus the links you posted above.

I also checked https://mahfuzreham.com/ which is linked from your above linked Github repo. Chrome said the security certificate on mahfuzreham.com was expired. I'm guessing, however, that's just because you forked your repo from https://github.com/mahfuzreham/PreConfigWHMcpanel and that mahfuzreham.com isn't your site.

Maybe someone might think the links you posted above suggest a business orientation, which might be different from what MetalVPS is seeking:

@Not_Oles said: Not for business use!

Can you please share a few more details about your use case for Crunchy? What is it that you want to develop and test?

Can you please send links where you share your experiences, answer questions, or engage in community discussion?

I would be delighted to hear more from you! Thanks again!

    Best wishes!

Okay, let's see how it goes! Can you please send $1.01 via Paypal to the email address on my @Not_Oles LET profile?

Please bear in mind that I am slow, so once payment is received it might take me a while to set up your account. But I will acknowledge receipt of your payment and then send you login info when everything seems ready.

Can you please try going to Paypal and using your credit card at Paypal to fund your Paypal payment? I am not sure if this procedure still works, but it used to work.

Registration seems a bit difficult, not suitable for novices, but payment is very convenient

Sorry to say that the last of the previously configured VMs on Crunchy has been taken. MetalVPS needs to do something additional. For example, MetalVPS could add additional slots on Crunchy or add an additional bare metal server Node.

Please continue to follow my posts on Low End Spirit, on Low End Talk, and at Nodeseek. Please feel free to post here, send me a PM, or send me an email if you have any questions. Thank you!

Some of the guys who are emailing with me have said that a server in Germany 🇩🇪 might work for them. So I am setting up a German server for them to try. If the German server does not work well, then we can try an additional server in the USA 🇺🇸.

Very cool of you to keep doing this. I hope it serves you and all your customers well! Are you paying for these yourself? If you are I'd love to contribute towards your efforts with a donation .

You're essentially providing interested parties with a storage VDS for nothing in return. Have you thought of a way to make it sustainable for yourself and your customers in the future? Splitting the cost would still be a ridiculously good deal down the line -- just something to keep in mind when that time comes.

Cheers and best of luck! You have my well wishes and support, sir.

    Thanks for your kind words!

I pay for the German servers. And some other servers. However, a dozen or so providers have given me bare metal servers for free, sometimes directly, like Crunchy, the server in this thread, and sometimes indirectly, via my former efforts as founder of FreeVPS.org.

When I started several years ago, I imagined I could rent servers and sell VPSes at a profit. That turns out not to be easy! First, I'm just a guy, not an engineer, and not an owner of big datacenters. A second challenge is that I strongly prefer open source software, while many of the standard Low End VPS billing and provisioning systems are closed source.

On the good side, all throughout my working life, and also now during my retirement Low End activities, I have met and made friends with so many interesting, talented, super helpful, and very kind people!

When I can, I try to make small contributions to the communities in which I live. So far, it's all worked out well, and I am happy!

Thanks very kindly! Much appreciated! Best to you too!

I had no idea you founded FreeVPS! That makes more sense to me now -- it sounds like you've reached the pinnacle of Maslow's Low End pyramid! ;)

That's awesome to hear and my favorite part of your story! I, myself, have about half a dozen projects I've started that I hope to open source one day, but between my responsibilities as a provider (and the time constraints that come with that), I haven't gotten there myself. Luckily, folks like you exist to keep me inspired, so thank you for that.
