storage partition tests OK as well:

    1+0 records in

  • I have another issue - not related to disk throughput... My torrents run and download, but then crash every few seconds with this error:

bad response from server: (500 [error, list]) Link to XMLRPC failed. Maybe, rTorrent is down?

Then it continues downloading, and crashes again and repeats. Yes, the torrent will probably complete, but pretty shoddy if you ask me...

also, don't update grub... Because of the custom memdisk for the boot-up, if you change anything (or try to install your own distro), you won't be able to boot into the OS anymore... You MUST use the templates...

A little shoddy if you ask me, if Calin can fix this, fine... Otherwise I'm going to request a refund... He's fed up with me and not responding on Discord anymore.

That sounds weird. I'm currently running Alpine Linux I installed via netboot.xyz using Proxmox IPXE.

I have also tried Debian this way and it booted up just fine.

That's exactly how I installed it - through netboot... What kind of install did you do? I do the expert install - are you doing a LiveCD installation? If you type 'mount' in shell, do you see a 'memdisk' mount point? Maybe he configured your node differently than mine.

    @Calin said:

Yes. Also, where I mount it shouldn't matter, but it is in fact mounted in /storage/... I would like to mount it in my home directory eventually, because rutorrent has https and sftp setup in the home directory, but that shouldn't be an issue, or should it? Please let me know.

Please let us know how many you plan on selling now? Are you going to cram us all in like sardines? A.K.A iHotArt 1.0 - but then I was only paying $5 a year!

Go ahead with your solution for me that you suggested on Discord... I want to install my own Debian 12 from scratch to see if it fixes that torrent error. I am going to take a shower, please have it done before I get back. I'm chasing you for several days already.

This is really slow. There's simply no way I can properly setup anything over ssh with this speed of the node.

  • plumbergplumberg Veteran

Folks, all those have trouble with slowness (cpu, network, disk) please wait for sometime to have the node settle down. Pll are yabs and pulling data in.

    Relax.

Before ordering, maybe one should do some math.

The node was advertised at the beginning as storage with DMCA. This means many people will use it for that 3gbps network and the 3TB storage - therefore I dare to guess most honest customers will use it as VPN or as seedbox or as simple storage.

Now take that 3000mbps line and split it to 108 clients (stock was initially 108 advertised in title) and you get about 28mbps network speed if everyone uses the bandwidth intensively at the same time - this would probably be worse case scenario.

The good side of this offer is the 20TB bandwidth limit because it will limit customers from abusing all the network, but assuming everybody downloads intensively, each customer would reach maximum 9TB from that 20TB/month.

The offer is great at first glance, but it is also a bit of a gamble in assuming not everybody downloads or uploads intensively.

I still doubt about this "DMCA free" when he's using an IPXO leased subnet.
