Anyone else use domain expiry dates as project end dates?
I just let a number of domains expire. Along with that, I decided to move existing sites and data off and archive. The main factor, along with dwindling importance, was the domain expiry date, nothing more. It made me wish we could return a domain before the end of it's year and get credit for the next domain. The thing is, two other domains expire in June, so I'm letting those sites chug along rather than delete them simply because the domain is still active. Anyone else? Other "simple" factors you use to power off projects?

I just wait for the hosting provider’s RAID array to fail, catastrophic data loss and no backups, and boom project is done
Not really related to projects but more about the domains whereby occasionally I give away unused and/or near to expiry domains to a lot of people on IRC.
I have 6 domains and more than 20 active projects.
Each project takes several subdomains.
I cannot comfortably end 5+ projects on the same day.
Thus, I have give in to the extortion of domain registries.
I don't have such problem. I have about 20 domains, and 30+ VPSes & bare metals, and 0 project.
No but I like this idea
