This is the config mentioned, looks like resold Psychz. Pretty OK deal at the moment since the list price for that config directly from Psychz is $34
Just a direct copy from my Gmail
If only it had an option to add a second disk... but it has an IPMI which is nice.
It is 'in stock' instead of 'limited quantity', so they must have quite a few of them.
No, it's $18 directly from psychz.

Hi @Jason5545!
Thanks for the amazing link!
Picked up two E3-1230 v2 @ $17.99 each. In addition to IPMI, OneProvider offers pre-installed FreeBSD 12 in addition to the usual Linuxes.
No issues setting up the account. No issues making payment. However, payment seemed to be sent to BrainStorm Network Inc. in Canada, instead of to OneProvider.
The control panel says that OneProvider has 173 locations. That's a lot of locations!
Now for the issue. The Control Panel says
Today is the 25th. Three days to wait! Makes me even more grateful for the ten or fifteen minute deliveries from GTHost and from the German provider whom I especially like.
Thanks again!
Best!
Tom
Hi @fluffernutter!
May I please ask why you think it looks like resold Psychz? Thanks!
Best!
Tom
But since you ordered some, it should be easy to confirm based on the network once they're delivered.
Why go with OneProvider if you can to with the Psych directly.
OneProviders support is not great.
Haha, I save $0.01! And that's per server, so $0.02 all together! Yaaay!
Yeah. I wonder if they will have IPv6. Maybe not.
Thanks for your comment @Swiftnode! What could I have bought from you instead of what I got? That is, US West, bare metal, super cheap.
At the moment I pushed the button, I didn't know the same server was available from Psychz.
I've never had a server from OneProvider before. Nor Psychz.
So, we will see. Thanks for your comment! Best wishes!
I can't beat those prices.
For ipv6 psychz does free announcements, you could pick up a cheap /48 and have it announced probably. Not sure if one provider will middleman that or not.
Please talk with me when you have an unbeatable price on a 14900K. Or whenever you want, about anything, and especially if there is something I could help you with!
At Psychz's website it says this for the same configuration:
Estimated Delivery Time: 15 - 60 Mins.
There you can also upgrade the disc to 2TB. I wonder whether it is 2x1TB though. The total cost bumps up by $10.
Psychz's website shows IPv6 available as well.
Instructions unclear
Got choked by the link
Psych seems to be offering it for double the price h less I’m missing something?
did you try the link in the thread? https://www.psychz.net/dashboard/client/web/order/special-dedicated-servers#
Missed that, thanks
If you have the choice between OneProvider and the Source, you shall use the source.
If you ever tried to get your disk replaced, with them, it fucking sucks.
In case you used Hetzner or OVH before, asking for a disk replacement is a 10-15 minute task right.
With them, you have to argue and even if you get a disk replacement, its probably worse, the time you waste on that shit, jeez.
Ah! Friend @Neoon! For me, it's just a little Low End Fun. Wish you a good day!
Haha, I ordered FreeBSD 12 not realizing that FreeBSD 12.4 went EOL a few weeks ago on December 31, 2023. See also the Currently Supported releases, which are 13.2 and 14.0.
sudo freebsd-update -r 14.0-RELEASE upgrade
don't forget to do sudo pkg upgrade -f before the last step, otherwise your sudo is broken.
Oh, wow! So FreeBSD is going to let me skip directly from 12.2 to 14.0? That's nice! Thanks for the command tips!
The two servers were provisioned a couple of hours ago. OneProvider didn't make me wait three days! Just one day! Yaaay!
I could ssh into one of the two servers. The login messages said it was installed with FreeBSD 12.2.
The second server initially refused to connect when I tried to access via ssh. Then it connected, but refused to accept the password which had been supplied in the provisioning email. After double checking the password and trying to login a few more times, I went to the Control Panel and reinstalled with Debian 12. I might put the second server back to FreeBSD and see what happens, but, for now, here is a yabs.
Guessing the FreeBSD 12 repo might no longer be available because 12 is EOL?
Bummer. Might be easier just to mount 14.0 ISO with IPMI and do a fresh install.
Since the hardware is pretty old, you might need to deal with a very old JRE and Java console instead of more modern HTML5 version.
Looks like non-ECC.
You can't get it all for $18!
Exactly. Plus, I do like my Chromebook, which doesn't have Java.
