Los Angeles VPS with 10 Gigabit Network and NVMe SSD at cheap price

Introduction
We have completed a major restock on our Los Angeles, CA VPS products. We've received a lot of inquiries asking when a restock would occur, and we've finally done one! Feel free to let us know if you have any questions in the comments.

KVM Standard XS
High Frequency (4 vCores)
8GB DDR4 ECC Memory
60GB NVMe SSD Storage
5TB Bandwidth (10 Gbit)
Located in Los Angeles, CA
$6.99/month - monthly

About the Hardware
We are currently only using AMD EPYC™ Milan (7003 series) of processors or above in Los Angeles, with NVMe SSD and DDR4 ECC memory. We typically use enterprise components for our KVM Standard VPS lineups, which typically consist of high-density AMD EPYC™ Milan or Rome configurations. Every single virtual machine running in locations with our owned hardware infrastructure is running on quality, TLC Enterprise NVMe SSD's such as the Samsung PM9A3 or Kioxia CD6-R. In some of our core locations such as Los Angeles and Nuremberg, we provide 10 Gbit+ public uplinks and 40 Gbit+ private uplinks.

About us
Founded in 2020, we've been in business for more than 3 years and have no plans of stopping anytime soon! We use fully owned hardware in our 6 primary locations worldwide, including Miami, Los Angeles, Buffalo, Nuremberg, Singapore, and Osaka. We have a very global presence and cater to clients from all around the world!

Test IP / Speedtest
Run a ping to speedtest-lax.advinservers.com or run a speedtest through our official Ookla speedtest servers by choosing it in the Ookla location selector on https://speedtest.net or using the command speedtest --server-id=60694.

Documentation
We offer some documentation about some of our products or services and policies here. This includes our Terms of Service, Fair Use, Refund, and Privacy policies.

Below is a Yabs.sh benchmark, but I would like you to keep a few things in mind while interpreting the results:

    1. The results are not representative of long-term performance. In the long-term, results will probably go down if the host node hosting your VPS is loaded, even if the CPU itself is not at max capacity or not oversold. This is because higher utilization will typically result in lower clock-speeds and lower all-core turbo speeds, resulting in a lower benchmark score.
    2. Geekbench is purely synthetic and is typically not indicative of real world performance, as the workloads that Geekbench run are typically not representative of applications that a lot of people may run on a server.
    3. iperf3 servers are sometimes a bit loaded or they might deprioritize iperf3 traffic, which results in lower results to those iperf3 servers. It's not very indicative of the real-world network performance that you may get to some of these destinations.

Since it's a virtual machine, Yabs and other tools will only show the base frequency of the processor. However, in reality, the CPU's will go way higher than 2.25 GHz, hitting a max turbo speed of 3.5 GHz. The virtual machine just can't see the real frequency of what the processor actually runs at because it's virtualized, this goes for any virtual machine.

    I'll send a Geekbench5 test in a little bit once I'm able.

By this argumentation pretty much every cpu would be „High Frequency“ just because it has a turbo of some sort.

Correct, most modern processors can reach a decent CPU frequency, usually way higher than the base clocks. The product page is meant to be generic on the specific CPU model since we typically use a mixture across some of our locations. You can check our knowledgebase for the specific CPU models that we use across our VPS hypervisors!

We will most likely change it to high performance or something similar to that terminology rather than high frequency. Once upon a time ago, we had other VPS lineups which were marked as something different, so the High Frequency terminology was used to differentiate the different lineups.

It should be able to run at 8GB from what I’ve heard!

So - just a warning on Palworld, there has to be a massive memory leak. 7 Players QUICKLY hits 8GB ram, and within 4 hours our server is using nearly 16GB, 6 hours in, 20+GB. None of the boys have gotten on to play tonight, and the server is idling at 12! GB of RAM.

    Their documentation states the following:

16GB Recommend over 32GB for stable operation. It is possible to start the server with 8 GB, but the further you play, the server will crash due to out of memory

Thanks for the additional insight, makes sense. I think Palworld has had some memory leaks which results in that climbing RAM usage. Idling at 12GB is crazy!

We do have some very basic protection, but it's not always-on and has a lower mitigation capacity. If you do get a lot of DDoS attacks, I would suggest going with a provider that is more involved in the DDoS mitigation.

@Advin - dude, I wish you'd get more EU stock in - if you had them, I'd definitely pick up a VPS (or two) and I'm sure I'm not the only one
