Hey everyone! Thanks for the recommendations. But yeah, sadly we are completely out of stock :'(

I’ll be honest, the main issue is that 7950X3D stuff isn’t really as much of a priority for us anymore because we moved to owned hardware, and we generally have better margins on our owned AMD EPYC servers, so our resources are typically allocated to that. We might have 7950X3D or Genoa 9554 stuff coming back in stock, but I would estimate a 1-2 month lead time before we have anything. People hold onto them for a while, there’s a very low cancellation rate (especially with Genoa where 95% of it are yearly plans).

I'm not necessarily looking for a particular CPU model. But I do need a processor with very good single-core performance.
    5950X should work too.
But I imagine it's all the same

Maybe one day I'll be able to order. :p

Ginernet @jmginer has Optimized VPS Servers offerings on their website.

I think my workload uses too many CPU resources to work with shared resources.
Just installing the entire development environment takes several hours.
I don't want to get suspended.

Hello, our Optimized servers guarantee 100% resource availability.
You can utilize 100% CPU capacity at all times without any issues.
Our servers are free from overselling.
    https://ginernet.com/en/optimized-vps/

Why wouldn’t someone just get a dedi at that price point?

Some of the options that you can benefit from having a 128 GB RAM VPS instead of a full dedicated one:

    • All the advantages offered by our GridCP panel (1-click reinstallations, IP Management, Monitoring, Migrations, etc...)

    • Daily backups with 6 copies in a remote data center

    • Possibility of taking your own snapshots without having to worry about buying an extra backup server

But you can also hire the complete server as dedicated here: https://ginernet.com/en/dedicated-servers/

I can transfer my Advin Genoa if you want. It's basically idling right now.

    VDS or VPS?
It's for working on a heavy development environment and that leads to a fairly high continuous cpu load.
If there are enough dedicated cores and 16GB of ram (bare minimum), I might be interested!
    What are the specs?

I'm currently using the new ryzen servers from avoro (ryzen rootserver M) which are very competitively priced but the single-core performance is good without being excellent. The price is 20€ but I can go higher if the offer better meets my needs. But not above 40€

Last week, there was a 5950X at only ~60€ with 128G RAM and 2x960G NVMe (maybe SSD) in Hetzner Server Auction. Much higher than the budget, but even a half share offers pinned 8C/16T. Why don't you find a companion and get yourself a bare metal?

    60€ VAT excluded ?
At this price, it's worth thinking about.

Let's just say that it's not great to be dependent on someone who may want to stop paying at any time.
But yes, the hetzner dedicated servers are so competitive that I wonder if it's not the best solution.

I bet it was ~55€ (VAT excl.). Don't remember the location. It's as expensive as 66€ (VAT excl.) at this moment, with 2x3.84TB NVMe though.

    Nvm, it's just 4GB Ram.
And I just realised my plan didn't have dedicated cores.

Edit: Try contacting @v3ng , might be able to work something out.

Wow thanks for thinking of notifying me!

I took a dedicated server based on ryzen 3600x a few days ago.
It's not as good as this one, but it does the job.
Even if it's for a professional activity, I've already spent quite a bit this month. Knowing that I'd already rented a VDS from avoro before that.
And above all, the environment takes a long time to set up.

But that's a pretty incredible price for such a recent processor.

Do you use a notification system to find out about good deals so quickly?

Glad you're happy with 3600X, and AFAIK the performance is way better than EPYC VDSes.

Ha, I think not. I just check the auction list once a day.
