I believe this is the second time I've noticed you posting the offer incorrectly.

I would like to know your refund policy before making the order as I was highly impressed by the Storage VPS performance and abuse handling provided by Hazi this morning. I want to ensure that I won't waste any more of my money.

    @Teko

Enlighten me on what are your searching regarding TOS/Refund policy, and I will answer you.

If you are not pleased with the product, we will do a full refund in 48H from the moment of the payment.

Here are is some info , the short version, of what is not allowed.

    https://www.host-c.com/knowledgebase/2/Terms-and-Services

If you are looking for a VPS to do illegal activities, SCAMS, Child Porn, Copy-Right protected clone websites, we will not be your provider in that case.

Nor consuming 100% of cpu and disk io 24/7, that is abuse in anyone eyes.

I am aware that HDDs have their physical limitations, and it is expected that everyone must share those limitations. However, today I witnessed @FlorinMarian allowing one client to monopolize all the available I/O resources without implementing any restrictions to prevent such situations. Furthermore, he suspended the VPS without giving the client time to solve the issue.

I want to clarify that I am not placing blame on you or your brand, but I find this situation to be excessively dramatic. I do not wish to witness a repeat of such incidents, so it is crucial for me to have complete clarity before making a purchase.

    1. If you find that a client is abusing or overusing the VPS, will you notify before suspension?
    2. Are there any limitations like IO or CPU limit applied to prevent abuse or overuse?

Thank you for your answering. <3

@Teko said: If you find that a client is abusing or overusing the VPS, will you notice before suspension?

    Yes, we always do this.

@Teko said: Are there any limitations like IO or CPU limit applied to prevent abuse or overuse?

You have vCores signed, you cannot consume more than assigned, storage wise we have some limitations in place if abuse is detected. Until you do not hit the abuse, you are free as a bird. I do not consider 1H of heavy use to be abuse, I will consider 12 ours to be that, and in that case we will open a ticket to you and see how we go from there.

If you have a problem with HAZI, I suggest you find a solution with them, ask them.

    EDIT:

As we do not over-sell, there is no need for vCPU limit, storage wise, we have either NVME or RAID 10 of 8 SSD for main drive, only Storage add-on is on SAN/RAID6 of "spinning rust" - AKA HDD.

    You mix the things.
    Suspend != Terminate
That abuser contacted me after a few hours and after unsuspension he did the necessary settings to avoid this in the future.
I can easily enforce some limits at host level but that is not loved most of the time by low end market.

  • If I keep downloading to fill my 12T of storage, is the vcpu and io usage during this time abusive? I'd also like to know the IO for HDD. Anyway thanks a lot and Merry Christmas.

Large services, like the 8TB+ have different metrics for IO to be flagged as abusive.

I would detail this, but them the abuser will know how to set it's settings to fly under the radar with 1%, so I will keep this classified, sure you understand my point of view.

Eitherway, any abuse is death with a ticket in the first place. If we do not find a way to co-exist, we part ways.

For those that need high IO services, we usually craft something alse at negotiated $.

Large storage services we provide are for "standard" usage, like backup, plex like, or whatever alse that you need storage to store them.

Chia mining ( have no clue if that is thing anymore ) would not be that use case scenario.

If you need something specific, give me a PM, or open a ticket on our website.

I do not see that as an abuse, writing to the raid, the controllers we have should keep up.

Abuse in IO on "spinning rust" - AKA HDD, is when you hit it with sub 1MB files, and those like hundred / second, the rest falls in to the sequential write, that will not create problems, usually

Random Read/Write on RAID from SSD can ahdel it with a breeze. NVME - same.

Could you please suggest a good way to clone the folder on the storage so as to host as static site.

This folder has over 12k files of various sizes.

you mean to copy it over?

archive it definitely. do 1TB archives. did this answer your question?

Uploading 12K of files, is double, but i would not do this. It will go slow.

If I keep downloading to fill my 12T of storage, is the vcpu and io usage during this time abusive? I'd also like to know the IO for HDD. Anyway thanks a lot and Merry Christmas.

Large services, like the 8TB+ have different metrics for IO to be flagged as abusive.

I would detail this, but them the abuser will know how to set it's settings to fly under the radar with 1%, so I will keep this classified, sure you understand my point of view.

I can upload as archive file.
is it ok to unzip the file on the server, considering the cpu and i/o utilization

And thanks for the quick reply.
