even we recommend using our looking glass to check the network before ordering.

That Provider's looking glass did not provide test IP, so I couldn't test it before ordering.

All providers should have looking glass

Eventually I want to make https://dnstools.ws easily self-hostable so hosts can use it as a looking glass with a nice UI :) going to track that here: https://github.com/Daniel15/dnstools/issues/79

that would be cool, I would like to definitely give it a try whenever it's available

We provide test IPs from each location to test. Also, there is a possibility to do ping/traceroute tests from those locations.

Did you open a ticket with the provider and provide MTRs to assist them with troubleshooting? It is very often that there’s simply a bad pathway that the provider needs to route around.

Mostly you will get a reply from the provider: I don't see any issues here

  • Actually in China, ISP got a very serious problem on International bandwidth, eg during perk hours or after mid-month speed is consider really really slow even if you are on either a 100Mbps or 1Gbps Internet speed local, but when connect to outside China network speed become only 1mbps or below, sometime even worst at 128kbps only.

So best way to solve such issue, is get a China direct route or CN2-GIA Hong Kong base Win VPS and connect using RDP to solve the slow issue and surf international net with better speed also.

@HostSlick is guilty: looking glass is on Cloudflare and is inaccessible too.

He will be judged in LowEndCourt.

I don't know. There is an IP in the screenshot, you can ping it yourself, or you can use the provider's domain www.c1vhosting.it for pinging.

we already had this situation with a peertube-customer:

He sent 1.4GE from our Helsinki location by Cogent Network to mostly German Telecom-Users and mostly in evenning hours. The cogent link to Telekom was crappy for some hours of the day and few days of a week - after few days, we cancelled our line with cogent and renewed this with Lumen / Level3 / Colt. Now it works properly.

I answered the poll both with yes...
    BUT...

The issue was neither on side of our customer, nor on our side. Together we investigated this and found a possible solution. So canceling a contract due to technical issues is one way to go. But finding a trustful partner who also helps with technical knowledge and investigation is the better way, sometimes ;)
