Which plans were available seems to have been pre-determined over the entire quantity of 500 sales; that is, no matter who bought stock #66 or at what time, it was going to be the same thing. They didn't sell all 500 AIUI, so what is available is skewed because of it.
Personally, I bought 1 for the meme, knowing it could be bad (haven't received mine yet). I've bought physical blind boxes from China before, so it's not like I didn't know what I was getting into.

To be honest, from a business perspective i like the VPS case-opening idea quite a lot. Given how greedy people are they are probably making a ton of money on this. Just buying it isn't that great of an idea i fear.
It's another marketing gimmick imo. The idea of opening so-called mystery boxes reminds me of clicker games for your phone. It seems like fun and random, but the house always wins. At least you get something. but I'd be pretty bummed if I got one of those 128MB RAM VMs. According to the operator 39% of purchasers are going to be "mad". Might have been nice to know those odds going in for those that paid in advance.
