Got DDoS-ed, can i report the IP's?

in Outages
all resolved already
not sure why i have been targeted but i wonder do ip's get reported? if so, how could i report them?
Comments
Report them on abuseipdb.com
what type of an attack?
support says ddos and hands me over few ip's
support of what? vps hosting provider or some webhost?
And can we get some of the IP's?
sometimes.... sometimes, it's better to just move on and block the ips from your servers

racknerd
sure, when im home
im pretty sure i got ddossed tonight again....
If you add it to some iptables or other blocking tool and still get DDoSed, will the blocking tool not consume excess resources and crash the server anyway?
Probly spoofed IPs anyway, so useless to report as those servers are likely not behind the attack.
also true, but weird that have been targeted... like... why?
What's weird? You are connected to the internet, your ip has probably been used before by someone else before you.
Maybe you helped me and now they are onto us

sure, but i have this ip for like 2-3 years already and this is first ddos, so yeah
but probably bad luck
Do you have the ip exposed anywhere?
If you are sure attackers' IP addresses are not forged, for example, if you get them from established TCP connections, you can report them.
You can obtain the abuse contacts of IP addresses via WHOIS databases. Take a look at https://lookup.icann.org/en/lookup
yupp, "check if my api is running" and more things
will have a look, i know that one is some scam website...
Aaand ddossed again, i'm unsure why...
Guess gotta mive some of my stuff elsewhere
What are them ip's?
