ADTAQ Storage VPS Soft Launch - 1 Month Free for LET™

Hey everyone, we are new in town and have been working hard to build a bitchin' Storage VPS platform.

We are finally ready for a "soft-launch" and want to collect valuable feedback from real users about our platform and product, so we've decided to offer 24 of you a FREE 2TB STORAGE VPS FOR A MONTH.

All we ask for in return is your honest feedback and help to find any bugs that might show up on our platform. We've been doing managed services and hosting privately for many years, but this is our first deployment of a public facing service so we want to get it right.

These will be first come, first serve, and again we can only do 24 of them, so if you are okay with providing feedback in this thread I suggest you sign up now while slots remain.

Here are the specs:

2TB HDD VPS

  • 2 x E5-2650 v4 vCPU
  • 2GB DDR4 Registered ECC RAM
  • 2TB HDD Storage Disk w/ SSD Caching
  • 6000GB Monthly Premium Bandwidth at 1 Gbps
  • 1 IPv4
  • $20/MONTH FREE for 1 Month - GET YOURS NOW

NOTE: Stripe is going to ask you for your credit card in order to allow you to start the Free Trial. Normally I'd just set up servers manually for the 24 testers via the backend, but we built a provisioning solution that ties Stripe directly to Virtfusion and this is part of what I want to test. Your card WILL NOT be charged unless you keep the server past the 30 day trial, and even if you forget to cancel on time I'm happy to refund the charge if you no longer want the VPS.

You are also more than welcome to purchase one of our larger plans (3 vCPU/3GB/3TB or 4 vCPU/4GB/4TB) but we are not offering free trials for those at this time (nor do we plan to, sorry).

Everything we sell includes:

  • KVM Virtualization
  • Root access
  • Virtfusion Control Panel - Reboot, Reinstall, Reverse DNS, VNC Console Access
  • Owned Hardware, not a reseller.
  • 100G Network Managed In House (AS36824)
  • "2-clicks to Buy" Easy Checkout with Stripe
  • Instant Deployment
  • 1 Gbps Uplink, minimum
  • Northwest USA Datacenter with 10 years of consistent availability

Here's a Yabs from our 2TB Storage VPS to give you an idea of what to expect:

  • any ddos protection?
what is your stance on free speech?

  • ADTAQADTAQ Member, Patron Provider

We're taking a 'wait and see' approach to DDoS protection. While it's something we plan to offer, we're just getting started at the moment and trying to keep costs down until we have an idea of demand.

While we are strong supporters of free speech, we will be bound by the laws of Gibraltar and the US for services delivered on this platform.

Would you care about spam of fake abuse reports and possibly people crying on Twitter over legal content hosted by your customer?

I mean that doesn't sound like something fun to deal with, but if it's a matter of "this content hurts my feelings" then no, I would not care.

If the abuse reports are truly fake and not submitted to an organization that would actually negatively impact our reach (DNS blacklist, Spamhaus, etc) then no, I would tell them to pound sand.

VNC server is unreachable via Internet.
I do not like WebVNC because it's taking up too much resources on the client computer compare to gvncviewer.

VNC should be accessible from the internet. Can you power your server back up and let me troubleshoot?

I have verified VNC is accessible from the internet, but gvncviewer does not appear to allow you to specify a non-standard port.

I was able to connect successfully with Vinagre but any VNC client that allows you to specify a port and password should work.

    Website looks really good.

My biggest concern is: I don’t see how this is so good that’d I’d wanna spend 2x what established providers are charging (think HostHatch, Alwyzon, BuyVM etc ..)

I guess we will find out. I know we are not the least expensive, but the thinking behind a slightly higher price is to maintain a level of profitability that allows us to maintain available stock rather than being in a constant state of playing catch up while potential customers have to wait.

I took a quick look at Alwyzon and I think if you are in the EU that's probably a pretty good deal. If you are in the US, is another $7.15/month worth the lower latency and ability to max out your link? Maybe, maybe not.

Hosthatch seems super affordable. I can't speak to their network or anything but I'm sure this community has vetted them.

BuyVM appears to be $60/month but adds 4 cores and unlimited bandwidth, so obviously, still a good deal if you can spend a bit more.

Hopefully there is interest in what we are offering. I feel like it's a fair price for pretty high performance, especially for those in North America, and this price will allow us to continue to grow the business and have Storage boxes available for as many people as possible.

Alwyzon includes VAT in that price

BuyVM offers their ”Slabs” at $5 / TB, starting at 250 GB ($1.25)

But you’re certainly right about having stock.

BuyVM is out most of the time.

    HostHatch is often out too.
