Elon Musk says Twitter will soon let publishers charge to read content on a 'per article basis with one click'
Media publishers may soon be able to charge Twitter users to read individual articles shared on the platform rather than require them to purchase a subscription to a paywalled outlet.
Twitter CEO Elon Musk announced Saturday that the company plans to roll out the feature next month, allowing news outlets to "charge users on a per article basis with one click."
"This enables users who would not sign up for a monthly subscription to pay a higher per article price for when they want to read an occasional article," Musk tweeted. "Should be a major win-win for both media orgs & the public."
Other details were not immediately clear, such as which accounts would be eligible for...

I'm on the fence about article paywalls in general.

@Tony40 are you off your meds again? Can't you just update twitter thread you opened 2 days ago?

@Arkas make this illegal or I program a Python bot to once per 2 hours post a random tech article on LET
The Washington Post slogan is, "Democracy dies in Darkness," yet every time I try to view one of their articles, the content of the article is paywalled.
A little ironic if I do say so myself.
https://12ft.io/ and archive.today(just archive the article, archive will be with paywall removed) help
Not going to happen.
The account we know today as @Tony40 was registered in 2013, abandoned and then hijacked and renamed by some staff in 2020 to generate SEO views by reposting random news.

As someone who worked full time with SEO for awhile: Not how it works.
I think management are pretty clueless about SEO, it’s very apparent looking at LEB.
Posts are just not making sense to be honest.
As to why ”SEO Views” isn’t a thing:
To top it off, what mods are doing is hurting the site when it comes to SEO in two major ways:
Anyone with just a decent knowledge in SEO and a resonable understanding of what kind of traffic is monetizable and what isn’t realize by just looking at LEB especially that the method used isn’t based on any actual strategy put togerher by someone with any SEO experience.
And just to be fully clear: The posts by @Tony40 helps the site in terms of SEO absolutely NOTHING.
