Can your OpenVZ run Docker?
Yup! Docker is supported.
Any yabs?
Any restriction on resources for 12GB OpenVZ?
Sure thing! Is there a particular plan you're interesting in?
Just CPU usage, we ask for "fair use" -- ie: don't run it at 100% all the time. It's shared and not dedicated.
I used the 500GB HD 12GB OpenVZ for a looong time to run Cloudron.io, Yunohost, CapRover, and even FLAP. All ran perfectly and fast. I don't use them anymore just because I have to save money. But totally recommend them. I actually had 2 at the same time - the deal is just too good to pass up.
@TNAHosting You offer bgp session, routed ip block to vps?
No, not at this time.
rock solid provider !
I just bought 12GB OpenVZ
Can I request upgrade to SSD
Cool I might try the 12gb OpenVZ one out, although admittedly I'm a bit scared, after using KVM for years.
A VPS with 12GB of RAM for only 50USD a year? What a juicy deal.
A VPS with 12GB of RAM for only 50USD a year? What a juicy deal.
Maxmind’d 😩
Listing WHT and not LET here broke my heart.
Looks like MaxMind got angry last night... I set your order back to pending.
As for that registration question - thanks for pointing that out! I think its been many many years since that list was put together. I just nuked WHT and put LET at the top.
Mama pajama, that's a lot of RAM.
Are custom isos supported? I'd like to load RedHat and possibly openbsd at will.
Is traffic between hosts metered? I'm contemplating 2 or more of the "compute" hosts and 1 or more storage host, and there will intra cluster traffic.
Also, is TNA an acronym for something?
For KVM, yup! Just drop a ticket and we can add any needed ISOs. As for traffic between hosts, yes -- this is currently counted towards the bandwidth allocation.
No, not really. But I've seen a handful of guesses over the years
any yabs for 12GB OpenVZ?
I have an old one from a while ago
I'd forgotten how hideous SolusVM templates are.
Out of the box:
Well, ansible will clean this up, but FYI @TNAHosting out of the box,
Deb 11's name resolution is broken. DHCP worked for IP but my Deb 11 box couldn't query anything until I put google DNS in resolv.conf
having to login to the serial console, copy/paste temporary creds, etc. just to turn on sshd so I can connect to the box is a bit suboptimal. I realize you didn't create the template.
Now time to party...
Thank you for the feedback! These are indeed the stock OpenVZ 'EZ' templates, so they do have some "bloatware". As for the DNS issue, this should now be fixed. We had the SolusVM team dig into it and they reported the following fix, just in case anyone else running OpenVZ hosts runs into it.
After that I noticed that on the affected node the version of package libvzctl is libvzctl-7.0.730-1.vz7.x86_64 and on working node it is libvzctl-7.0.724-1.vz7.x86_64
When checking the changelog I can see that there were several changes related to DNS resolving tuning:

As I understand there are issues on Virtuozzo side with DNS resolving configuration.
I have downgraded the package to version libvzctl-7.0.724-1.vz7.x86_64 and now the newly created VPSes with Ubuntu 22 and Debian 11 are working just fine.
Since libvzctl was downgraded on the troublesome node, we've created several test VMs and haven't see any further DNS issues.
As for the lack of sshd on your server, that's a new one we haven't seen. All the templates have sshd setup as without it, as you experienced, connecting to your new server becomes in absolute pain. I just went through and tested several templates, and they all have sshd running. We'll keep testing and watch out for this, as that would make for a horrible first time user experience.
Once again, thanks for the feedback and feel free to reach out if you run into any other issues!
Well it wasn't horrible...or unique.
Since I hadn't done anything significant, I just reinstalled to see if it was any different and sure enough sshd came up this time, so it must have been a fluke. DNS is working after reinstall as well. 👍
-- Seems a little buggy re: ssh on the vps i picked up from your special. Is there any wikis or support docs i'm missing on the TnA site?
j
If you're having any issues, please feel free to drop us a ticket or shoot me a DM. We don't really have much documentation, as other than the SolusVM control panel, there isn't much else.
if you exceed the 50tb monthly data limit what happens to the service ? shaped down to a certain speed or charged per gb ?
ssh works fine, it's just not enabled out of the box. If you login via VNC/console you can enable it.
These deals look awesome!
I am still fairly new to the world of Cloud Computing / VPS so please bear with me while I ask silly questions. I am looking to get 12GB OpenVZ and have few questions. Will I have some sort of remote desktop capability to manage this instance? I will be selectiong Ubuntu 22.04? Is the 15TB bandwidth per month? And lastly what is the network speed? 1Gbps?
Thanks in advance!
