Interesting YABS of an SSDNodes virtual server

  • I have had a server with them for over two years (3 year contract) and although the specs look good the server can't really be compared to a single core Ryzen.
On a positive, the uptime has genuinely been excellent.
I will not be renewing and have no plans to ever go back to them

Because of the performance? I have 22 apps on it and they work perfectly fine for me, so I might actually keep it. These are just self hosted apps for a single user (me), nothing critical or high traffic.

  • Dropping because of the cost to performance ratio.
Paid $351 for 3 years which does 'sound' good value but I am literally just idling this server now because of its performance. Compare this to greencloud or (bad word) virmach lower spec machines and the speed (GB5) is really noticeable.
However I will repeat - the uptime has been excellent, so if you are looking for an underperforming server that is reliable then you may be happy with ssdnodes.

Thanks for your input. I have still 10 days left in the 14 days refund window so plenty of time to think about it wether to keep it or not

    Mine was
    32GB RAM, 320GB SSD, 8 vCPU, 16TB BW with backups $351 (3 years).
Two+ years ago this sounded and I suppose still does sound good.

    Update
Turns out I only paid $271.00 due to $30 (free credit) and 15% discount. Also this is dollars and the £ was stronger then.
