I never said about websites getting banned or what not, none of my websites ever got banned, My points were not related to banning but instead of some other aspects if you care to read them. If this reply wasn't intended for me then i guess i am jumping the gun here. And here i do like to quote something from you as well, "You can't convince every uneducated people on Internet" well being uneducated maybe much better atleast i could have stayed away from internet if i was one.
Yep! Completely agree with you on this.
And also most of our Taxes eaten by politicians, babus and other govt workers (from a chaprasi to one in the big post)
And the rest will paid for freebies
As an Indian living in Spain, I would recommend actually living in Europe/USA for a couple of years before drawing conclusions on governance, cost of living, taxation etc.
What!?? Where I comment on your post?
I even never read your commen on this post.
My comment was for varwww where he said because of got websites are baned and something like that..
I hate the freebie gang much more i hate the taxation system, And not to mention the bureaucrats who holds all important positions within our indian governing infrastructure, even if change the government in next election the bureaucrats will still remains the same and not to mention they are the most corrupted bunch of shit heads i have ever researched or heard about. I no longer think we can change it's in our blood if there is a proper way we still want a shortcut and we convince someone to be our bureaucrat helping with our shortcut and what not, then we play the blame game saying this government is corrupt or that was, but in reality we are the one who are corrupt.
Well it might be due the quote i received the notification, well shit happens all the time, and that wasn't an exception.
Yep absolutely..
But also govt has no business to do business..
Whenever a govt open a company gives jobs, there will be corruption.
When you can't terminate an employee, they will do more corruption. As they have no fear to get terminate neither they have to perform to stay in job.
They knows very well that even if they can't perform no one have power to remove them
No problem bro! Shit happens!
Thus the cycle of corruptions keeps going, and i think it's due to we are relying on the prehistoric way to solve the problems when we could have done the same much more efficiently, There are ways to solve everything but unless those with responsibilities decide to solve them that way, for example have you ever tried booking several train tickets with irctc web? if yes then you might have faced the random logouts and payment failures. I have contacted them several times regarding that but every time i received 0 response then i just left it like that and started using third party agencies who do the bookings. There was once i reported the websites of water corporation of my city after it got hacked by some script kids(was around 2015 i guess) and can you believe what they did after that? They called me like 5 times collected my information like address and all and asked me same question at the end of our convo, "How do you know that? how can you say it was hacked?" i mean comeon anyone could have seen that if they were trying to reach the webpage, they started the fix after a day or two but the damage was done if the script kids have taken the db information and data nothing was shared on the incident. Well so far for my ranting. Will try to stick to the topic.
Problem lies in quality of service. Its not about the availability, because Internet is cheap now In india. But most of the providers have "chaltha hai" attitude Means (It will Run like that). And they dont care if your business is impacted. I'm from India but neeed to say that we have all mediocre solutions here.
Not most of The Providers but most of the Indians, Btw does anyone knows about IFF RTI which was sent to NIXI after the .in domain policies? if no then read it you will certainly find it useful in many ways if you ever decide to go against the government. In simpler terms No one cares and certainly the government doesn't give a fuck about you and your questions, unless you are a very high profile person.
Yes Thats also right thats the other part of the story. And we do have the weak consumer protection law also.
Please re-read my post.
Said customer support associate has a 1BHK apartment in India whereas in many other developed countries they would be sharing with 2-3 others. Here's a good read on Rent vs Income in Barcelona, Spain (I live in Barcelona) - https://www.reddit.com/r/Barcelona/comments/10f6ddr/rent_vs_income/
People with even 4-10 years experience have to share apartments because income after tax is disproportionately low compared to rent.
As I said, try living in said countries and experience it yourself
.
The comment on power was ofcourse about Datacenter power. For us, Germany Datacenters charge 50-60cents per KWH (since the war), whereas Indian charge less than half.
The results speak for themselves. The fact that there is barely any competition outside the big cloud vendors(most of them are foreign companies) says it all. Now compare that with the EU/US market.
I know I'm entering a controversial thread (any thread on any website talking about India goes downhill fast, and I say this as an Indian myself) but the website blocking is real; I'm sure you've read about VLC media player being blocked in India, a few weeks ago Airtel was blocking the Webpack documentation for some reason...
1BHK apartment on 15k salary? Rent alone will cost atleast 10k on most major cities. Even in india people share large apartments in early careers to save money despite earning >40k.
I read and wasn't able to comprehend your vast knowledge, forgive me.
As far as i know no one was comparing living in different countries. The pure thread was based with the new rules being implemented and the discussion went to hardware when was asked why not go with indian providers. As i said in my other comments if you look around in market to get something here directly(again i am not talking about bulk pricing) you will see the difference in pricing easily if you have bought the same thing in spain or outside india. I am inexperienced and prolly never get to live in any of the other countries so can't compare with that sorry.
Again you proved me right.. Govt didn't block VLC randomly. They banned it because there was a news that hackers exploited it..
So as precaution govt blocked it.
VLC is fully accessible for years.. it was just a hiccup to protect Indian consumers.
Kindly research first before commenting..
Thank you
When I mentioned sites getting banned randomly by Govt, I was referring to opensource tools, libs and docs that I rely on getting banned. None of my sites were banned.
https://github.com/captn3m0/hello-cloudflare This was basically a side effect to another site getting blocked by Govt orders on the same host. It usually gets reversed in a few months after Govt realize the mess they created.
The shady crap hosted by people/criminals ("uneducated" people you call) gets banned by Hetzner Abuse team (or any other reputable provider) way before the India Govt orders.
That was nothing to do with govt. If govt want to ban something they will order all ISP and not just a sing ISP (Airtel in this case)
Also you don't needs to violate anything, hetzner will ban you some day as they are very famous for their fales positive abuse emails.
And sorry but Neither Hetzner nor any other provider or entity has right to tell any govt what to do or what not to do. Neither any govt gives a shit on any providers opinion.. Govt runs by constitution and law of the land. Neither any company nor any other govt has any rights to dictate other countries what's they should do
Again, you are misinformed here. VLC (original src) was never hacked. It was probably a fork of the code with the malware. This can happen to any software. https://techcrunch.com/2022/11/14/india-lifts-download-ban-on-vlc/?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAADpVV7DP5yo3XzPJPwnY_fGM_o6VaKUi8Wg743Q1puNsJm1kThYVa_EucnDiDHlHbamvCSUhVBBKjzfGhRUM5we0fazW3AbS7Zq03hzv0G9TxykMsfBirzyAJBwMG8LaYUk4QN5eAaeZ3YpEirt05hJLU07a9eJ6PHn7GR8wzehg
9+ months is a long time to unblock an incorrect ban.
Yes 9 months is very long thanks to our bureaucracy I guess..
But for me 9 months not using a software is far better that loosing all personal and financial data.
I don't want to give my data to "Winnie-the-Pooh" (that's my opinion btw)
BTW, India is a democracy so you have option to challenge Govt's order if you are not agree.
The official VLC media player was never compromised though. It was a different group that made a copy of VLC and added malware to it, so blocking the official website would only have the opposite effect of people downloading it from shady sources.
The correct step would be to block the domain and not the official website.
Vote to change the government, Government gets changed, bureaucracy remains the same, people fed up with government, vote to change the government, and the shit show continues.
Shows the competency level of Ministry of IT under Rajeev.
sure, you can list out all the drawbacks, but answer this. would you rather be in India or stay where you are?
I would stay in India (Pune). I alternate between the 2, 6 months in each.
haha, you got a hybrid thing going on? that's the dream my man. I understand now, for the reasons you've mentioned.
Some good news.

I was relieved by this news tbh.
