Ok, to answer your original question seriously. Each of us gets to define if we are living or existing. Societies expectations have nothing to do with my words of wisdom quote above. Take a moment and ask people around you to honestly say if they feel that they are really living their life to the fullest or if they think that continuing to exist for as long as possible is good enough. See what they say.
