FastestVPN server upgrade to 10 Gbps
Just received the following email. Since it doesn't state these are for "Pro" users only, many locations will likely receive a speed boost
Always nice to get a lifetime VPN deal, sit back and see the VPN Provider adding more and more value over time. Wireguard is also on their roadmap.
Comments
Did you really get 10Gbps? They always have worse quality.
My line is only 250 Mbits, so I wouldn't be able to tell. I also haven't tested speed recently. Just received the message.
Can you test Keepsolid, Fastest again now and if available, Nord, Mullvad, IVPN, OVPN?
I don't have Nord, Mullvad, IVPN, OVPN, or any other VPN that doesn't offer lifetime plans.
If I remember I can run a test later, but in the end it is only momentary performance and depends on the server etc.
I was hoping university would allow me to test higher speed, but it's like 60 Mbits only here
FastestVPN has been working great for me since I bought it. I've grabbed it as a secondary/3rd VPN backup for like $12 but I've started using it more lately.
What's the best deal currently for FastestVPN? I have been thinking about picking it up
https://stacksocial.com/sales/fastestvpn-lifetime-subscription-2-devices
https://stacksocial.com/sales/fastest-vpn-lifetime-subscription-for-5-devices-2-account-bundle
use code FJOJETR for additional 15% off
Stacksocial doesn't have any nice coupons, so that's likely the best deal.
Or https://fastestvpn.com/lifetime for 20$ with 2TB storage (Internxt iirc).
You're correct: https://fastestvpn.com/blog/fastestvpn-partnership-with-internxt/
Direct from their seems to include 15 devices right?
Yes, that's what description says.
Yes, should be the case.
If you are their customer, be careful: https://old.reddit.com/r/VPNTorrents/comments/w36efc/fastestvpn_incompatible_with_qbittorrent/ihas8vr/
Thanks for pointing this out.
Yeah, best to not use those kind of budget vpns for anything crucial.
Just tested FastestVPN Spain location (OpenVPN). Was quite speedy.
Without VPN: 190 Mbit/s
With VPN: 180 Mbit/s
re-run with France location and actually got 220 Mbit/s (my line is 250 Mbit/s max.)
Same for NL, Switzerland, Germany llocation. Seems like the upgrade is really noticeable. Never had such high results across so many different locations.
I have a lifetime account from them but I wish I didn't waste my money
Why? I don't have account with them, but it would be interesting to know more.
Probably because speed depends on location? I know I idle mine because their Korean server sucks balls.
Yes, I got the same server update email from FastestVPN.
From the last 2 months I am feeling a big change in server's speed, they are continuously improving.
Do buy for use on Apple computers.
You will have to disable IPv6 manually each time you want to use it.
Edit: They finally made an app that works properly.
My Android app has been crashing as of lately. Probably the new update
When I bought my lifetime subscription with them, I think it was for 5 devices. Anyway to check this from the site?
Looks like it's on the account page under "FASTESTVPN SUBSCRIPTION" in the Multi Logins column.
Thanks, yep, it shows 5 for mine.
Can you test using Wireguard instead of OpenVPN? If so, can you test to USA server (Los Angeles) on FastestVPN, Keepsolid and Windscribe?
FastestVPN does not have Wireguard. Keepsolid and Windscribe Wireguard corrupt each other when installed on the same Win10 machine (at least on my PC), so can only run one usually. I can try to run a test on mobile apps of WS/Keepsolid Wireguard later, though.
Unstable, I'd rather use others
@kidrock DSL line seems to be a bit subpar today. Without VPN I only got 170 Mbit/s of our 250 Mbit/s line. Anyway, I measured with https://fast.com as I did the other day, too.
Hope this helps
Speed without VPN (I am in Germany location) (Android phone): 170 Mbit/s
VPN Unlimited Wireguard: 70 Mbit/s (Android App; Los Angeles Server, US-California 2; 3 Test runs, highest result)
Windscribe Wireguard: 53 Mbit/s (Android App; US, Los Angeles Lamar "10 Gbps Server"; 3 Test runs, highest result)
Ivacy Wireguard: 49 Mbit/s (Android App; Los Angeles Server; 3 Test runs, highest result)
FastestVPN OpenVPN UDP: 18 Mbit/s (Android, OpenVPN config, Los Angeles Server 2, 3 Test runs, highest result)
So, not getting the best Speed Test results from either rn for the US location.
Then again, the internet is a bit bumpy here today, in general.
Yeah I can't use the Android app either. Crash everytime I try to connect.
Yeah, the latest update seems to have crashed it. Currently using OpenVPN Connect + FastestVPN Configs. Works fine.
