Interesting. I downloaded the test file from the looking glass this morning and also saw this kind of terrible performance, and decided not to bother with this storage server as syncing files to the UK is important for me. But strange it only seems to be an issue with IPv4 and IPv6 works fine for you.

This server (CLV UK) has problem several days with bad connectivity for several location (for ipv4 i see few days still < than 10 MBit/sec there in many yabs and uploads from remote locations / cross several US/asia providers)

    Thanked by 1ralf
  • Although, I just ran another test from France to HH HK:

    $ wget http://lg.hkg.hosthatch.com/100MB.test
    ...
    100MB.test            100%[=======================>]  95.37M  5.10MB/s    in 43s

    2022-11-11 11:33:12 (2.22 MB/s) - ‘100MB.test’ saved [100000000/100000000]

Marginally better than this morning, but it's still not exactly speedy.

It keeps showing this after payment, the server is not working:
This server is in a pending state and may be awaiting its invoice to be paid for or is still being built.

At a guess, I think it's because your order is pending

No, it's been several hours since the payment was made and I don't know what went wrong.

I'm having the same issue, the order was paid for more than 1 day. The support ticket was created and no response about it.

The server I just bought has been offline. I Can't boot it.

I can't boot it even reinstall the system.

    What's going on?

The billing cycle has already begun.

Sorry, the server has been offline. I can't connect with it.

  • How long does it usually take to reinstall a system, it's been almost half an hour and it's still being installed, it's too much trouble and I want a refund.

  • @sbtaje said:

    46 minutes

  • Nice work :)

@hosthatch said: It can take several days to resolve certain issues

I like your promotional plans, and understand you need to make sacrifices to reach these price points (like with support) but "several days" is probably an understatement. I'm sure 90th percentile time to resolve for promotional plans is far above that

By the way, I never heard back about whether STOR2.LAX (the one that suffered large data loss) was replaced with newer hardware or if it's still using the old dangerous hardware. This makes me hesitant to get new storage VPSes with HostHatch

You can use SeaweedFS or Minio.

For me its like 4-5 minutes. I have instances from last year's BF promo.

  • I got one yesterday but it's still pending right now :'(

Before order read what he wrote:

@hosthatch : Are there any other differences between our normal and discounted plans?

    Yes, primarily our support:

It can take several days to resolve certain issues

especially issues that require complex investigation.

SO, IF YOU EXPECT REPLY WITHIN MINUTES AND LOSS MILLIONS WITH LONG RESPONSE TIME, THEN PAY MORE FOR STANDARD PLANS (intended for production use) WITH SUCH FEATURE:

Please choose one of the services from hosthatch.com directly for production usage, with access to our normal support queue.

Our promotional services are provided at near-cost pricing to fill up excess capacity.

BTW: mine is too down and i am patiently waiting for ticket response because i realize that i paid peels for this (and all 40 other there, 40 online and 1 new offline is still pretty good score for me for these money)

Additionally: I am using HH VPSes since 2014
For entire this time i remember 1 serious incident (when my SWISS VPS has been broken/began be unreachable and i was waiting ~ 2 weeks for fix), that's all what i can say based on my own (think quite rich) experiences w them, GOOD RATE: (cheap) price / what u get, from this (my) angle of view i am happy and satisfied their customer (calculating with fact that support is not fastest at promotional services)

  • I couldn't resist and bought one. Still pending though.
