Who invented 11.11? I don't remember it from way back, is it a Chinese BF equivalent?

  • Some vendors (like us) start Black Friday sale on 11.11 and carry it over until November 26.

It's the biggest trading day in China. I haven't kept track of it recently, but in 2018 it went past 200 billion RMB (27 bn USD) in mainland China.

As others have said, it's called singles day, a pun on the 4 ones, and designed to be an alternative to valentine's day so single people spend money on themselves.

  • I don't think there will be a big deals/offers in this year (11.11 and BF sales), because of the energy price problems, and other economy problems. My plan is to renew my exist "old" services (which have a recurring prices, and works good for me).

For example, 11.11 sale on AliCloud looks like very simple (no any interesting, or big deal) at this year. For example: last years there was some good domain promo, but i don't see it in this year.
