As already mentioned. We are not renewing services for annual promotions.

Services we launch for $3, $5 or $12 a year. We are not renewing them.

If you want to keep the service you must upgrade to monthly.

The one payment service has not been and will not be modified.

Dont offer here anymore please. If you cant keep the price you are offering its false advertising in my opinion.
If you cant calculate your problem not the problem of your customers.

ok Thank you for your opinion

I would argue that expecting to pay once and only once for something that has very real and recurring costs for the provider would be a bit of a silly thing to do to begin with.

The way this has been handled by @georgedatacenter in and of itself is a prime example of why such offers should probably not be trusted.

The low end market is always a balance between having margins at all and having enough volume for those small margins to work for you.

Anyone can sell things cheap - not everyone is capable of doing it consistently over time.

Beyond all of that - the operating costs for just about every business - in and out of this market - has gone up over the last few years making it even harder on those with thinner margins.

For 3 years we have had clients who continue to maintain the offers we provide them.

ontime plans have not been modified and continue to work.

We are only discontinuing the services on a yearly basis and switching to monthly payments.

and we are cancelling the $3, $5 and $12 promotions.

Why? You prefer paying more in transaction fees and smaller margins?

and we are cancelling the $3, $5 and $12 promotions.

With prior notification to those affected?

That decision to accept monthly payments is a decision that I have made myself.

For me, the option of keeping the monthly payments is much better.

We have notified everyone, we have not cancelled anyone. and they will be able to keep their services, they can open a support ticket, if they need more time for the migration, or simply if they want help with something.

I had one of those plans for almost 3 years. It was a great deal, worked well, and I am sorry to see it go. I did received about three weeks notice that the price was going to be changed to $2.50 a month. Since I can get a better deals else where I will not renew. I do not see this as fraud, or have any real issue, because what I paid for was for a one year contract. Sure it said the renewal price was the same in the billing panel, but that is not a contract. So IMHO the provider can change the price at the end of any contract period. Understanding that, I would not sign up for a monthly contract with this provider as it is subject to change in any given month.

I am not sure what the reasoning for this change was, and I doubt it will work out as they planned, unless the plan is to sell the company.

Sure. To be clear though you can offer monthly and annual pricing. They are not mutually exclusive.

Thank you for your comments. after George's retirement, the decisions that have been made have all been my own.

I hope he will return and continue to manage his company as he has done for the past 3 years.

I hope I am not wrong and ruin the company he has created for you.

but these are decisions that will hopefully work out for the best.

You should consider the promotion and less profit made to retain customers. This is a necessary condition. In any case, it is the consequence of your own decision. This is a responsibility that everyone needs to go through. Maybe, you should notify about this.
