Sorry, was a bit vague wasn't it! If it's not a global problem I should probably just open a ticket - basically can ping6 the local gateway but not get any further.
Actually looking more deeply at it, it might be picking up a pretty random looking ipv6 address from somewhere and trying to ping out of that so I imagine it's just Debian being Debian. I'll poke it some more before potentially wasting your time with a ticket :-)
eta: yeah, it's a debian config snafu, so nothing your side!
