It's a damn shame IPv6 hasn't worked as intended yet. It would have solved so many problems at no price hike.

I remember when 1Eur a month was way too much for one.

I am using almost exclusively IPv6 for my personal needs (access servers, WireGuard, distributed storage and the like). The problems appear when I need to interact with obsolete providers and places where IPv6 is still an incomprehensible novelty 12 years after I got it at my home.

The switch that shared, and our billing, are connected to was acting up and required a little bit of persuasion to address.

The issue is just too much ARP traffic. I'm going to have to migrate everything to layer3 routing, something I should've done a long time ago.

I am curious, what is advantage Mailchannels with other similiar relay

Mailchannels is better for shared hosts whose customers bring heaps of domains and will occasionally be compromised. Mailchannels will just block the sending address whereas, eg, SES will block the host’s entire account. There are also no overage charges, just rate limits. And they have a cPanel plugin.

@Erisa said: Edit: Keeping in mind this is in the context of a shared/reseller webhosting, anyway. There are plenty for VPS.

1 case scenario is using the IP as a nameserver, making your shared hosting look almost like a reseller account.
Using your own IP as a nameserver just looks more professional and clears you of your neighbors activities.

We disable named on our shared nodes as we have our dns cluster available for both product lines.

The IPs didn’t make sense anymore with mailchannels being included. We will also enable ddos protection on the ranges to deal with the other reason we gave them.

Vegas will get an email in the coming weeks once we confirm which ip range I’ll use.

This is also a “first step” to shared moving under namecrane.

I would say the death of XP for realz also helped reduce IP's needed. I still have devices running XP today.
