Hetzner cloud It's really invincible

Once upon a time I only needed 1G RAM 1T traffic, and I didn't care how much CPU was shared. Recently I needed a VPS with high performance and lots of traffic then I realized Hetzner cloud It's really invincible.
Such a vps only 6.9 eur a month, there are firewall snapshots private network and hourly billing! At the same time it has 10G port speed and 20T traffic, honestly I have not used 10G except for large cloud providers like GCP. Even in LET most small providers have higher catalog prices than this. And it's rare to see a deal with more than 10T traffic except racknerd's crazy double bandwith campaign

YABS below, yes I skipped the iperf test, later I used speedtest to confirm it was a 10G port

  • Yep, Hetzner is amazing. Except their IPv4 prices

  • Also I do have a 3c5g racknerd new year deal with 14TB traffic , but it has an old CPU with 1500 geekbench score and is not stable enough. Currently running mailcow as my mail server

Sorry it was running a bandwidth-sensitive application...

I think it's EPYC ROME not the latest, But ZEN2 is a huge improvement over Zen

OVH with their unmetered traffic is also solid option for US and they also have dedis there, Hetzner doesnt have dedis in US.
Also there is TerraHost with their "unmetered 10Gbps" + FUP policy (you cant go above 1Gbps average so 10Gbit only for burst) and very powerful Ryzen 5950X, around 60% faster than EPYC Zen2 on Hetzner, but they are more expensive ofc.

Not everybody stores 10TB of ISOs. Having a big port can be very useful.

Huh, not enough space for your BBC collection? Only 24H It consumed 1T of traffic, while only 4GB of critical data.

That does look like a solid option. Seeing similar performance on the VPSes I bought from Greencloud's recent offerings, for less than half that price. (Smaller disk & xfer limit, tho.)

  • I am running the US Hetzner 4c VM and its amazing.

I am even considering a migration from aws to Hetzner, but might wait until an additional US location is added, just for redundancy reasons.

But yeah, kudos to Hetzner for running something as solid and as affordable as that.

Offerings are not available every day, not to mention hourly billing. From my experience with greencloud, they also don't seem to have firewall snapshots private network

Yes, if they also have a region in US west It would be perfect

  • Can someone explain a firewall snapshot?

    Also what is "4c VM"?

i have 3 dedicated servers with hetzner, love them but have no idea wtf these phrases refer to,

    Meh for €94.00 you can get a 5950x (16c 32t) 128Gb DDR4 ram and 2 x 3.84TB NVMe

Usually refers to the firewall on the outside of the VPS, which is in the control panel

Every linux VPS has iptables, usually refers to the firewall on the outside of the VPS. And the firewall and snapshot are obviously two features...
