1 sounds good
Damn, tough competition for the 3rd spot.
https://globalpi.ng/
Need more chickens @allthemtings
Don't worry I'm constantly getting more and more free servers so 3rd place will be mine 😁
noob race
Dang I just realize most of my nodes are down, gotta spin it up xD
Like, my ISP promised 1G but i only get 986Mbps
I could put myself into the 3rd place, but to lazy to set them all up.
@jimaek I’ll try to spin that container in my pi in Buenos Aires, I turned off a ryzen box I had laying around that had amongst some other stuff yer probes, sir.
You been super responsive some months ago via email!
Cheers,mate.
@inthecloudblog thanks, ping me anytime!
@Neoon if you missed it we now have auto adoption. So you only need to run a single command on all of your servers.
Is it possible somehow to manually change the username without changing it on github? Alternatively, is it possible to transfer all the probes to a new github account without re-installing all of them?
Changing username would most likely break stuff. Moving probes can be done with a new adoption token or I could do it manually if you message me the details
Or - would it be possible to have a different display name (instead of changing the username)
That's a good idea, I'll add it to our to do
Jin Maek, how’s the project going? Did you find the way to monetize it?
It's growing, just not as fast as it could be due to the limited budget. The monetization path is clear and relies on heavy users donating to get extra credits, as well as sponsors to keep our expenses low.
Thank you for the answer. Best of luck with your project.
No, please don't do that. Instead, you can help me beat @sh97 by running this command:
I am not a docker user, so meh, more work, to install more bloat.
How do you run that? I can't find anything except docker.
It's still via Docker, but now it's a single command instead of manual log based adoption.
No way without Docker or podman unfortunately
podman?
Neither, I don't install docker or anything else for just one app.
Just for you, I compiled an experimental version into a binary using https://github.com/NilsIrl/dockerc
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/7b3rqubxso2ftgfxpr8x4/globalping_bin?rlkey=k6j3470fq568t5173tn27cswm&dl=0
But it will probably stop working at some point
Actually dockerc worked so well that I opened an issue to consider fully supporting it https://github.com/jsdelivr/globalping-probe/issues/289
Sorry if I missed it but is there a way to connect the hardware probe to a user?
Sure, the old way by checking the logs for the unique code. Just register and follow the instructions in the dashboard.
@jimaek plans on adding ipinfo.io db to the list of geoip?
I also feel that the city that you manually set sometimes reset? Is this even possible?
perhaps even @Operable4829 can sponsor their ISP/hosting detection stuff too
We already use ipinfo, you can find the full logic over here https://github.com/jsdelivr/globalping/blob/master/docs/geoip.md
We'll check, PM me any details you might have
Sure about that? Dropdown to select country doesn't appear in this probe, and so, I have a bunch not added since I don't want to lie to ppl lol (I assume by the logic you use that since it's the only db that reports it as Germany, it gets disqualified and not shown)

(can PM any details, just don't want to expose this IP xD)
