My LA-based VPS is now flapping every few hours as well. Sydney is stable for the moment.
Would suggest you look for other providers and start migrating now.
Their equipments are getting older
I'm their customer since 2014 and my experiences are good overall. I read some negative experience in the last year on LET about them (support and uptime problems). So I'm worry too about HostUS. I hope everything will be fine.
I have two small OpenVZ based VPS from their Dallas location, and - maybe i'm lucky but - both VM is pretty solid for me. (nodes: DAL01-VZ51 and DAL01-VZ75) Currently with 3-4 months uptime.
Just make sure you have backups and can recover from them.
Luckily my main server with them is up for renewal soon, so I will be migrating away and not renewing. The second server is a cPanel DNSONLY install so it is disposable.
