Storage VPS
Hello, i need a windows VPS with decent DDOS protections against L4 attacks and a lot of storage, like at least 200 gb (Preferably with at least a SSD just for OS, i don't mind my files being in HDD then), unmetered bandwidth at least 150/200 mbps hosted in Europe (Germany or France) around 10/15 euros or anything similar, reliable and stable ping
Would any service offer something like this?
I already tried Wishosting and it was great but sadly the ping got some several spikes despite the service being really good
Comments
contabo
Contabo has metered bandwidth as i know
Interserver has been advertising storage vps on reddit for a while. You can check them out. But your requirements don't fit at all. They have 1 tb hdd 2 tb bandwidth vps and don't even mention windows.
Sadly i really need specially unmetered bandwidth cause i'm gonna host at least 2 gameservers so there would be client files to be downloaded
Buyvm slice and slabs?
https://my.frantech.ca/
As long as you don’t mind waiting until the moon is in its 3rd cycle and you know the secret handshake.
Slabs are out of stock tho
What do you mean?
I mean BuyVM is constantly out of stock, and only gets stock at specific times of the month and if you miss it, you’re fucked. Hence my comparison to having to do a weird thing at a specific time.
Well you may be right on that, i just checked and they're out of stock rn
Netcup.eu maybe
Looks like the vps 2000 might be ideal, but you just missed their easter event
Additionally, they aren't easy with their contracts as well, just so you know!
Their 80TB limit also allows for ~250 Mbps constantly per month
It won’t suspend after hitting the limit but you have to pay for windows and the ddos protection sucks afaik
It’s a fucking pain, I stopped using them because they never had stock when I needed something. If you’re prepared to wait I’m sure you’ll get something eventually, and it’ll probably be decent.
Yup, 32GB.
It would be fine if it was 250Mbps but as i'm reading it's just 100mbps
Also it ain't very clear about their DDOS Protections.
I was also looking at their storage plan but the first offer (Which is closer) may be really too slow with 1 vcore and 2 gb ram
Yeah i guess it's not a choice actually
Thank you all by the way, i'm glad you're all helping me finding infos and more about new hosting providers, i didn't expected such a nice community, this is great
It’s amazing what can happen when you politely ask a reasonable question and have a reasonable budget for your request.
You get 100 Mbps after the 80 TB limit for VPS line and 200 Mbps for root line for netcup.
As for contabo, I believe you get limited to 100 Mbps after you use 32 TB. If you are definitely going to push 60 TB every month, then you might not have many options here.
Well my budget ain't that much i guess but it's all i can do atm, as for politeness i hope i sounded polite enough
They don't mention many things about the ddos protections, i'm kinda confused for netcup.
Contabo as they said doesn't offers any protection at all and meh i would like at least some basic protection (at least in L4, in L7 i could deal a bit even if not at all with CF)
Contabo claims to have ddos protection if you consider nullrouting ddos protection

Probably not good enough for a game server, but what game server uses 200 Mbps constantly?
So netcup vpses do have 1 Gbit/s port speed and 100 Mbps after the 80 TB (allegedly, I don't know where this is written)
DDOS Protection info can be found here https://www.netcup.eu/ueber-netcup/ddos-schutz-filter.php I think it's basic L4 protection
Another problem with BuyVM is that if you want a slab in a given datacenter and they are not available, you still have to take a VPS to be ready to snag the slab once it becomes available.
If you don't, then once a slab becomes available you will be told you first need a VPS to attach the slab to. By the time you get your VPS up and running, the slab will be long gone.
So, you might pay something like 3.50$USD per month for a VPS that sits idle while you hope a slab appears... and you be fast enough to get it.
Francisco should allow getting slabs without a VPS.
Completely agree, it’s just a fucking ball-ache, so I don’t bother with them anymore. They won’t miss my custom, I can actually get what I want when I need it, it’s a win-win.
There were slabs available this morning and I was able to purchase.
I know. I also got a notification from buyvmstock.com. I wasn't fast enough. tbh, I am getting tired of this and I am also looking elsewhere.
e.g., Servarica seems way more interesting storage-wise.
Same here.
Sorry. We're actively working to order more racks in Telehouse & Luxembourg, but it's slow.
We're working to turn up 1PB+ of new slabs in both NY & LU.
Francisco
Well for now i got offers from 2 providers about 1 gbit down and 250 mbps up
unmetered, with 200 gb SSD and 8/16 gb ram with 4 vcores around 12/14 euros
I'm concerned about one of them as long as i don't get a better option which i don't think could be easy, they guaranted me also global protection of 17 TB
Do your homework. Make sure they're reputable, preferably in business for a few years.
Sadly i can't really check that because they contact me through PMs, so sometimes i'm struggling to trust their services because i don't want something which would be shutdown in a couple of months
If they don't have a website and a proper ordering system you can check, you need to be very, very careful.
The service stopping in a few months is the least of your worries, I'd worry about handing over the money and not even getting a service.
Just name the members offering the deals here - you don't have to mention the details of the deals, but if the providers are reputable they won't mind you mentioning their names here.
