is cosmotown good or not? how come website speed get affected with it?

  • I find it will depend on what domain extension you want some are cheaper elsewhere, I use namesilo, Godaddy and Fasthosts and sometimes Porkbun for new tld's.

Have been using it for ages, support is excellent and domains are cheap. Only downside is the ui is not as great when compared to other providers. Not saying that UI is bad

Sav is a bit cheaper, but unreliable. NamePros is full of threads exposing very troubling situations with them.

I would not trust them either. They sell below ICANN costs and from the looks of it they do not upsell other services, so I would like to understand their business model.

How could a registrar possibly be unreliable?

Bad and slow support, dubious billing practices, technical issues with their management panel, dark patterns with their auctions...

Dubious billing practices? You literally enable and disable auto-renewal and that's it. You shouldn't really get anything besides domains at a registrar. Also, I can't see why you'd ever need support either (not ever, I get that some things happen, but I just can't see it being a regular occurrence).

@Nyr said: technical issues with their management panel

Turn it on and off again.

You don't (usually), but you'd like them to be as responsive as possible when it does happen. Have you read @yoursunny's pushup domain shenanigans?
