For transfer: KS-LE @ GRA1

Hello all!

I have a KS-LE in GRA1 on a Kimsufi EU account that I am looking to transfer out.

I have confirmed with support that a transfer is possible.
Based on what I know, it is only KimsufI US/World that don't like to do transfers anymore (When I asked out of curiosity, Kimsufi US said their legal team told them not to anymore. Yikes.)

REQUIRED: Existing Kimsufi EU account. I am not aware if you need to buy a server to make one or not. This is your responsibility to work out.

TLDR payment options (Read below):
- €15 PayPal (refundable if something goes wrong). Fees covered by me up to €15.
- €10 donated if active LET member (non-refundable)
- Maybe push-ups if @yoursunny helps me out in the thread
- Wait a week and it becomes free if unclaimed

I actually use £ rather than €, any equivalent is fine. Just thought € was fitting since that is what Kimsufi EU bills.

Details, including expiry:

Expiry date
    22 Jan 2022
Datacentre
    GRA1 - Rack: G111B16 - Server ID: 4481xx (Last digits redacted)
OS
Ubuntu Server 20.04 "Focal Fossa" (64bits)
Boot
Boot from hard drive (no netboot)
Main IP
    37.187.xxx.xxx (Last octets redacted)
Commercial name
    KS-LE Server - Intel Xeon E5-1620v2 - 32GB DDR3 ECC 1133MHz - 2x 2To HDD Soft RAID
Reverse
    [redacted]

The HDD is 2x2TB as claimed. The only "lottery" feature it has is 1Gbps over IPv6 only, though note this could be limited by OVH at any time.

In case you are curious why I don't want it, I got lucky with a KS-16 that I would rather use instead. KS-LE is a great machine I just don't need the added expense right now.

YABS & lsblk:

Note: The root partition I made for my usage is 100 GB hence the reported size. For this reason I included lsblk output as well.

Pricing & Payment:

  • Pricing these things is something I was a little unsure about. After a little consideration I think €15 (or equivalent) is a reasonable price since it means the setup fee is effectively voided. I will cover any fees (Incl. buyer protection) up to €5 or equivalent and the payment method is PayPal.

However, I am not really looking to make a profit for myself here.

  • So if you are a regularly active LET member*, then I will let you donate a minimum of a lower amount (€10 or equivalent) to a legitimately recognised charity by mentioning here and also sending uncensored proof to my PM inbox on this website. Keep in mind donations can't be reversed, if you get sniped by someone else there isn't really anything I can do for you.
The lower cost for this payment method is to encourage the spirit of donating. If you are not a regularly active LET member, you cannot use it.

*Regularly active LET member is defined as

  • Registered over 6 months ago
  • 10+ comments in recent 3 months
  • Minimum 100 comments & thanks total before this thread

--

  • I was also thinking of collaborating with @yoursunny to add a push-ups payment method, but I didn't want to have to go through the hassle of making contact with him and coordinating the whole thing.
But if @yoursunny gives an equivalent price (To €15) in push-ups and handles the requirements and proof verification, I will gladly honour whoever he says is the rightful owner.

--

Perhaps I had a little too much fun making this thread : ) Apologies if it seems a little overwhelming.
I could have provided the server for free but I wanted to make it more interesting and encourage it to be taken by someone who actually wants it.

If the server is unclaimed by the 19th (1 week from this threads creation), I will offer it for free for the first person to ask. I will announce the specific timing later in the thread if it comes to that. I may also lower the price during the thread.

If nobody wants it, that is fine too : ) It will expire and die a natural death.

For PayPal payment? Shoot me a PM if so.

Edit: PM was recieved, will update this thread if success or it falls through.

There is no exchange rate between push-ups and most other currencies.
Each product can be independently priced in push-ups.
https://pushups.ndn.today/ is a video platform just like YouTube, not a payment gateway (yet).

Oh, but how I wish it was! Would be a great way of handling transactions.

Noted, thanks! You will be next in line to have a shot if @lala_th doesn't pay or an issue develops.

  • I wish transfer threads were as detailed and with a bit of fun as this one, lol. Even if it was a walltext!

My transfer thread still holds the record for having the most views (1.9K) and comments (60).
It's also the very first Service Transfer thread apart from the category announcement.

I like the way your transfer thread is put together, unfortunately I don't have quite the same skill at crafting them

I had no idea there was so much demand for these things or I would definitely have done an auction, lol

I have already got payment from @nilanka and am currently waiting on Kimsufi support to perform the transfer.

So for now, the server isn't available. Only in the slim chance that falls through and I have to refund, but I don't anticipate it after its got this far.
