Before something like this happens, of course. Not when your data has already gone.
Mine still running and I'm able to take a backup.
Yeah, one of mine was affected, TBs of data down. Fortunately just backups 😅
How much did you lose? 3 million?
Billions. Joking is not appropriate in that case. It is very hard on your soul when you lose all of your data. Hope he'll be able to recover it.
FIngers crossed. Hope they'll manage to recover. I only have like 1TB of data but havent backed up in a while.
How can we tell what node we are on?
If you didn't get an email, you're not affected. I don't think the portal show the node you're on.
Maybe @bruh21 is a type of guy that okay if losing something < 3 million.
I'm affected and I'm losing dollars.
I wonder how long they'd take to migrate, I have opted for the migration..
Same. Haven't received any response yet.
My porn collection is insured up to 3 million
Update on my end
Sh*t. My VM doesn't even turn on for me to take a backup. 😭
HINT: You take backups before shit is failing, not after.
If you lost porn, let me know your kink and I’ll see if I can hook you up.
I know, I know.
It's just a tiny yaml file that had a lot of config. I updated a lot of keys and haven't taken a backup in 2 months. I would have to recreate the file and reset my keys which is a pain.
lol, not porn. Most important data is a just a yaml file and bunch of associated configs. Rest is just an extensive movie and TV show library which I can recreate pretty easily.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained
Who doesn't take risks doesn't drink champagne
How many files?
It's just 2-3 yaml files that generate a bunch of config files (around 50) when run. It could have been easily backed up, even just copying the contents onto a local notepad would have worked. But I kept postponing it, thinking I'd setup a more robust backup solution. Serves me right for being lazy.
I know the feeling man, I lost my vintage 70's rips a few years ago, heartbreaking.
If you offered that to all HH customers affected, there might not be any disappointed customers.
A single config file? Dude, rclone that shit to any of the million cloud services. You can even Cron that so you can edit all you want and it'll be saved to the cloud.
Damn, that sucks. Some stuff is hard to find even on obscure private trackers.
Lol, that is exactly how I had it setup before I switched to HH.
I started from scratch so I was making sure to get all my things setup perfectly before I could config the rclone remote and start backing up, and as you know, things never really end up being perfect so I kept tuning things and postponing the rclone setup.
So, searching for 70's classic lists gets you much. Would be nice to know of any motherlodes, though. Honestly, LET could get a ton more visitors in a new category on LET... Linux ISOs.
I broke the screen on my less than a week old Pixel 6 to run and grab a fucking mask i forgot. The real kick in the face is that I had a case for it, but was waiting 7 hours to switch SIM card. And it turned out the case was much easier to get on than I expected. Will get it repaired this week. Gorilla/dragon glass my ass. My old blackberry Z30 took 10x the pavement abuse as any other Google phone I've ever had. Not a single crack.
The vps has been stopped for a few days. Although it has been notified to migrate, it cannot be turned on now. How to migrate data? The official just opened a new VPS. The ticket has not been replied!
Been trying to power-on mine for days, does not start.
I suspect it's not possible to self-migrate, since it won't start. Hope their efforts to migrate work for you.
Lack of replies is annoying, but they did set me up with a replacement VM rather quickly.
This is exactly why you should never take backups so that you can whine on LET while effectively unconsciously advertising for your host.
so all you guys think this is normal? Long downtime with long time noreply
Now I think your previous evaluations of some "bad" IDC were too much
I too am quite disappointed by the lack of response from HH.
I understand sh*t breaks but not updating the tickets for more than 2 days is crazy.
