Best storage plan in BF2021?

edited November 2021 in General

I bought two: LiteServer and hosthatch

BF2021 Flash — Storage 1TB
1 CPU core (fair share)
1GB RAM
1TB HDD storage
4 TB monthly bandwidth
$60.00 / Triennially
https://cloud.hosthatch.com/sale/cherry-jam

HDD-1G
1 CPU Core
1 GB RAM
512 GB HDD RAID-10 Storage
10 TB bandwidth / month
€ 2,50 / month
https://clients.liteserver.nl/cart.php?a=add&pid=407&promocode=2021BLACKFRIDAY

@hosthatch is the GOAT of storage VPS. But you have to wait several weeks for it.
@LiteServer is a very stable, premium provider.

I love terrahost, I have got a ceph 500G storage VPS and a 2 core Ryzen VPS, high-speed network. I would like to recommend @terrahost too.

  • All gone.

SX64-64TB/Hetzner Server (74 Euros) with Ryzen 3600, If you ignore setup fee, it's better than most of the BF deals posted here.

Hetzner has BF pricing all around the year!

  • I got the Greencloud 2TB storage at 90/3 years. Double RAM and bandwidth due to paying 3 years upfront.. pretty sweet deal.

    Location?
1 core and 2 gb ram on board? Where to find this deal?

Atlanta, US. 4 core, 6GB (doubled) and 8TB (doubled) transfer. Unfortunately, only 5 were available and it is currently sold out.

I was looking for a storage VPS located in Europe (especially NL and SE), so Atlanta wouldn't have suited me but the price is really good and even more for this configuaration.

  • Here's a YABS from the Servarica 3.5TB one. Disk IO performance is pretty good considering the price and the fact that it's HDD storage.

Interestingly the storage appears as two separate ~1.8TB drives, so if you install the OS manually yourself (e.g. by booting into netboot.xyz via GRUB) and want to have all the storage as a single mount point, you'll need to use LVM to combine both into a single logical volume.

Is that because it's a SAN?

AFAIK this one doesn't support Borgbackup so it's not ideal for backups (if you use Borg, that is)

I noticed that YABS gives 2x better 4k perfomans if the filesystem is BTRFS
But maybe it's just YABS, not real perfomance.
