Autumn starts today... no longer Summer :joy:

  • Is the flying fish SSD disk speed around 50mb/s? (I searched LET for previous benchmarks)

  • Autumn host?

  • I really like my polar bear but I keep breaking it if I try to swap kernel or play with networking. Could be a XEN thing or a me thing.

Is it possible to allow me to install from an ISO?

  • @servarica_hani can you offer this deal again
    1 CPU cores shared
    1GB RAM
    500gb disk
    100mbps with 2TB limit
    /64 IPv6 included
    12$/year

I remember when i've been customer i was able to setup Alpine Linux, so there is a way to run a custom ISO or at least to boot on netboot.xyz.

tell me which test you want to run and i can give you the results ,
the results will vary a little bit based on the node and the type of SSDs and the number of users on each node but you will get general idea

Just open ticket with the iso link you want and the team will mount it as CD in your VPS and you can install the OS from console

IPv4 NAT with couple of ports + IPv6? That would be great :)

So it seems the market of HDDs is still suffering from Chia. Flying Fish for example kept it's price and specs over time, but storage servers based on HDDs had their prices increased.

It's interesting to note that many providers complained about price increase of IPv4 recently, while prices of HDD were estimated to return back to normal. Because Flying Fish plan did not suffer any price increase, I highly recommend people to grab it fast, and take advantage of this offer while it still lasts, especially to refugees from Hosterlabs.

I'd be interested in this if there was some NAT for outbound IPv4 for convenience. Although at the right price I'd be willing to find a use for IPv6-only...

  • Any plans to restock "NVMe Tiger"?

Would it be possible to share one? I only need 1 TB and a subdomain working in Apache2.

  • Can the Flying Fish plan be used for bittorrent downloading on rarbg or thepiratebay?

NO. This is not that kind of provider. Always read a provider's terms and rules.

    EDIT: No benchmark yet?

  • Looking at Chia price, I wonder if people still farm this. I can't wait for providers to put some cheap storage offers with HDDs used on Chia.

I asked the same thing earlier. Maybe people are not buying these Whale storage plans, or maybe they are not seeing our requests.

    YMMV.

  • @Shot2 - thank you, but we wanted bench for current plans, not something from months or years ago.

    • Mouse is no longer on sale.
    • Polar now has 3gb of RAM (different server most likely).
    • Storage is RAIDz2 now.
  • @Shot2 said: YABS results for a Mouse storage server (500GB, IPv6-only, 100mbps):

    Disk : 8.5 GiB ?

  • Two things you must consider regarding these offers (1) Xen - not bad, just different from KVM (2) no private network to go between your compute and storage node (if you happen to have them both there)
