BillingServ - Come check what we been upto

JordJord Moderator, Host Rep

Hey hey hey!

Remember my BS? Yes? No?

Well if you forgot, let me rehash,

BillingServ at a glance:
• Fully Hosted with 100% uptime with failover.
• Fully PCI Compliant.
• ISO 27001 Compliance meaning we make sure all client data is safe.
• Web Hosting Integrations (DirectAdmin, cPanel, Plesk, Proxmox, Virtualizor, and more).
• Digital Downloads, Sell Services via our package’s manager.
• Nothing to install, setup or maintain
• We take care of all the security and patches so you don’t have to.

Well, we have been hard at work. Super busy. We heard your feedback, took some from my sexy secretary, Meg and continued to work on those.

While still a bit to go, we are getting there and adding more and more to the mix.

Without BSing much (get it?) here’s a quick summary of what we have done since the last time we spoke!

We have refreshed our frontend design/checkout pages.

We have also updated our admin/client area theme.

Along with a load of other fixes and added some new features,

Yay? Nay? Fuck it? Let me know!

Thanks,
Jord

Thanks for the feedback, I'll have a look into this and see if we can streamline our checkout page.

  • Looking nice and try to add domain form also on order form

Thanks :) that is available, depending on the package you set up in your admin, so if a domain is being offered it will show up.

Finally, I can sell some trousers with our VPS.

Next ten orders gets mens pants half off.

On a serious note, it looks good and I'm glad to see additional options become viable in the market.

  • It's refreshing to see a non-hosting-related checkout system on LET, nice one :)

Don't forget the Phones ;) half price phones for all.

Thank you, we are working on more hosting addons too.

Thanks, man, we can be used by any business/sector, so we wanted a natural checkout theme/process so this is what we built.

  • Billing information and billing address are required or optional?
Also, maybe better to put those after after checkout even if it is required.

Thanks for your feedback, I will certainly have a look to see if we can streamline it further,

95% of it is required because we offer solutions for different types of companies we have to have a basic layout to fit everyone.

If you wanted to buy another product/service from the company using us you would then just log in and that form would be prefilled.

  • @Jord Material UI? :)

  • This needs to be scrutinized by serious UX specialist and can go live for 7$/month. Summer hosts will appreciate.

  • Looks lovely.

Something I see, that might be a potential problem though - isn't that "pay invoice" icon looking a bit too much like the Amazon Pay icon?

Ah I was wondering how long that would take someone, I put it there to see if anyone would notice, that won't be on our live version ;)

How is the Proxmox integration? Does the host need anything expect Proxmox and BillingServ to deploy VMs after purchase?

    "Asking for friend.. :D"

It's nearly done, just testing it, we want to fully test it before releasing it, along with all the features we've included. You'll just need Proxmox and BS nothing else, we will then provision everything automatically.

  • Any plans to implement Hetzner Cloud module? ^^ It can be for additional price :)

There wasn't, didn't even think about adding it haha. But it can be added, what would you like to see within the module?

Would it be possible for me to put the test version live if I bought it next weekend?

This is naturally not a service planned for LET/LES audience, or anything public for that matter.

Sure I can have a look into this for you, I'm sure we can release a basic module, to begin with, and then expand it from there.

Let me see what we can do for you :)

I don't want to give any deadlines, but we are currently working on cloud-init support, which is taking us a little bit of time. Once that is done then we can get some beta testers trying it out.

I'll let you know once it's ready, sorry it wasn't sooner.

  • Yeah, that checkout form looks intimidating. Also for physical goods you'll need shipping address as well which will make it even worse.

Split it into 3 steps. Show clearly there are only 3 steps to complete right away.

    1. Create account OR Login, both on the same page, no Click here if already have account. The last thing you want to do is force user to follow the link and get distracted.
    2. Billing/shipping info. Do you really need 4 address fields?
    3. Review your order and Pay

Step #1 could also be optional, it's not always necessary to create an account to buy something.

This stuff looks impressive @Jord keep up the enhancements.

  • as @ezeth said the payment page is a bit cluttered, you could try splitting it up into steps rather than having it all on one page, or remove some of the info i.e. combine address and billing address
