Now it's showing totally different, seems the traffic is routed outside Iceland and then back.

Interesting. Have you contacted EDIS support about this?

  • What could EDIS support do about it? Obviously there is some breakage in the peering between the ISPs inside Iceland. They should fix it, eventually.

  • Just communicate what the current status of the overall network situation is, based on what they know. I didn't want to bug support again if emilv had an update. If I were running a service and paying a provider for connectivity, I would be all over trying to figure out what was happening even if I couldn't directly fix it. On 12/1 they reported some equipment issues:

    http://status.edis.at/network-problem-is/

It hasn't been updated as of this post, but per a support request I submitted, that particular issue was fixed. Last night I was only able to get about 3MB/s downstream and 119kB/s upstream, consistently, for about 4 hours. William has stated that is likely due to the 100Mbit shared connection and more usage. Unfortunately, that sort of speed wasn't going to work for me so I ended up canceling the service.

  • The issue is we don't know any more - Thor/Advania is not very communicative on this.
