Don't get me wrong, the price is great, the hardware itself also seems pretty good, but not having IPv6 by default in 2021 doesnt really make me jump on the racknerd hype train.

Hi @nobizzle -- IPv6 today is over-rated in the sense of real world implementation, and actual demand. I understand, that with time, and advanced technology networks evolve, and as a whole the industry should shift towards it (but it isn't going to happen anytime soon as you can clearly see major enterprise yet to adopt IPv6 along with the majority of the world).

The good news is that as an alternative, tunnelbroker.net is always available to those who require IPv6 and for those looking for native IPv6 we have and deploy it on demand in our Los Angeles DC-02 location.

It is our hope that in the near future, we can implement native IPv6 throughout all our regions. Lets goooo! RackNerd!!

    IPv6 is definitely not overrated.
It improves website performance for readers on a cellular network.
Verizon and T-Mobile are naively IPv6 now.

TunnelBroker would work for most cases, but each user can only create 5 free tunnels, and I know someone with more than 5 servers.

If you are recommending TunnelBroker, why don't you configure tunnels with /48 on your routers or host nodes, and then provide a /64 to each VPS?
Most routers support SIT tunnels, and TunnelBroker has sample commands for Cisco and other routers.

@dustinc where did you get those custom North Face backpacks? I am jealous. I can't possibly win the lottery so imma buy one.

I didn't need to win the lottery.
I sent 15 push-ups and received the much coveted backpack.
Maybe you can try the same?

    @dustinc said:
We've purchased the backpacks on Amazon. We then have the RackNerd logo embroidered locally (we're all for helping local businesses too).

By the way, the price will fluctuate, we've bought some at $55 & $42.50 and now they're $35.35 (so we'll likely load up on 100 more). So previously with embroidering it came out to roughly $80/backpack

With shipping, it's closer to $90.
This valued each push-up at $6.

You can get them 50% cheaper from factories in China.
It'll be generic brand, but quality could be as good as name brands.

However, you'll have to buy at least 10000 units.
And then you'll be in backpack importing business instead of hosting business.

Hi @splice -- we are on a growth rampage, so this is possible! We do provide bare metal in London, though for VPS we are considering it.

Right now our main focus has been expanding our Ryzen product line globally. We have awesome upcoming news to share too!

  • I prefer drinking from a porcelain mug but a travel mug would survive the post better, especially if wrapped in a sweatshirt or a hoodie and a backpack. B)

The exchange rate hasn't been established.

Last time I tried to do a chin-up, I broke the tree.
