1&1 are really okay as a registrar, they won't try to steal anyone's domain or to prevent domain transfer.

serv.app was marked as "PREMIUM" at Namecheap and any other fucking registry they wanted $$$.
1&1 just wanted regular $$, so I decided I register it there.

As you see, so far no issues, transfer it out.

@HostDoc - do any of your locations have IPv6 (in addition to IPv4)? The flash deals look quite interesting but I'm interested in IPv4+IPv6 (preferably a /64 subnet).

I used the XL VPS for 18 months (12 month contract, but they upgraded VPS specs after 6 and I took a new promo so got 6 + 6 months discounted and paid full retail on the last 6 which ended this month). Zero issues, bandwidth was unlimited as promised, it achieved full 400Mbit advertised line speed as/when required and no issues moving domains in/out. Either I was very lucky, or they aren’t as bad as suggested.

Believe me, I was sceptical, 18 months later it’s done what it said on the tin. I briefly got booted from Xeon Gold’s to E5 cores, but it wasn’t a massive difference for my usage and it was resolved without a ticket in a few days.

VPS S at ionos.austria. Perf is not bad, I'd say. Uptime of 5+ months without issues, got bandwidth and storage greater than advertised (500Mbps/20GB instead of 400/10). All you can expect from a basic vps (ipv6, control panel, console etc.)

I has an ionos VPS a few months back and had it suspend for using too much bandwidth. It was only around 12-13tb monthly I was using from recollection.

Yes, if you pay for 12 months there is no setup fees and they will charge you monthly but contract is for 12 months.
