Huawei automatically deletes images that users downloaded from Twitter
Why is the phone manufacturers nowadays getting more and more disgusting? Data collection and even control the data you can have in your phone. Although I understand that it is mostly caused by the government, but I still find it quite annoying.

Time to make my own OS.

Well, If you have a phone, you already gave up your privacy.
So the discussion is bullshit.
Your phone provider, records your position 24/7 for several months, while you use the phone. But you complain about a deleted image?
The problem is how can you live in the modern world without a phone?
At least they are not filtering every single information on your phone, which contains more information than just your location.
Not everything is as black and white as you appear to think it is.
@FAT32 Honestly not surprised at all given the recent news about Huawei. It's just a matter of time before other things will pop up.
You can, I did that always. I have not the need to be reachable 24/7, if someone wants something they can call by Landline, simple.
Not to mention video and audio recordings even if it's turned "off".
Emui is crap.
These days we have cheap android one devices with decent specs like Xiaomi Mi a2, etc.
Noone should buy a phone without unlockable bootloader and kernel source code made available.
Glad I use iPhone XS MAX bitches.
Let the Android vs iPhone debate begin.
grabs popcorn and flies away
Good for you.
But some of us like to have more flexibility and a little more control.
Well technically they can do this, and I believe audio recording is already implemented. I am just sharing the news.
Ok, maybe my comment is a little absurd. I was talking about Android 4-7. I think Android has improve a lot since the last few years (Android 8 Oreo - 9 Pie).
Technically, I use both OS but I fall in love with the simplicity of iOS 12. No hate, just honesty. The fact that this topic is about Huawei, I don't think other manufacturers such as Samsung, Xioami, etc. delete your twitter stuff not-to-mention Apple. Apple is the God when it comes to user privacy. Remember when the NSA/FBI/CIA asked about the terrorist icloud's info?
IOS master race in.
Should we do a iOS vs Android thread?:) It looks like it's getting hot ^^
I like both iOS and Android but for daily use I will still stick with Android because it provides more freedom and customisability. Even with bloatware you can attempt to remove it or flash a non-stock ROM. Moreover, Apple products are generally harder to fix and everything seems to be closed-source.
I am fine with both so I will stop comparing this two. Anyway, remember when celebrities photos leaked from iCloud? I have no intend to compare between iOS and Android.
No, the one deleted pictures is twitter app. Check the video.
You're right. Security-wise it's Apple's fault but code is never "perfect", code is only ever "good enough". So, the bugs/exploits can happen in any OSes... That's totally different from asking for user data vs hacking...
This may give you a good laugh @FAT32
@sudoranger I get your point, I am comparing apple and orange. But privacy and security are closely related.
Don't use the Android of your vendor, problem solved.
What does Huawei gain from deleting pictures downloaded from Twitter? It doesn't make any sense to me.
Censorship.
I don't think this discussion should be about iOS vs Android, it's all about phone vendors and their stance on privacy. Some vendors like Google and Huawei are just more invasive that others, with tracking features and analytics turned on by default. Take LG for example, their phones come with all anti-privacy features disabled by default with not even a pop-up requesting you to enable them (except for Google Assistant obviously). You have to manually go in settings and explicitly enable tracking features. Want to use the default fitness application? No problem, it works without signing up and agreeing to give your data away. I'm sure they are not the only company to respect your privacy, or at least I hope!
Off with their heads!
<HEAD>off</HEAD>
Huawei can suck it long and hard for all I'm concerned. Hang the princess.
Nothing to see here apparently.

So, another false flag operation? no wonder.
The US, China bashing goes on for a while.
I thought I made it clear:
These are not the droids you are looking for.
You can still read tweets and write tweets but you can't download pictures from Twitter? What kind of censorship is that?
Watching porn and making porn are allowed but downloading porn is not?
@Neoon you can always use a custom ROM and enable wifi and cellular service as needed. Even tunnel apps through Tor and block hosts.
Not everyone can live without a phone, but they can definitely reclaim big parts of their privacy.
It reeks to me like how Apple hid the filesystem on the iPhone from the users, so everything is just magically there- until it isn't.
Hm.
Smartphone and privacy don't go together in my world no matter what you do.
