My top 5 VPS providers for 2018
Linode - best all round with strengths for backup, snapshotting, restores, VPS cloning, fast 1-12Gbps network out speeds, private lan and cross data center migration process with speeds between 100-200MB/s for data centers I use and fav geographic location West Coast USA
Upcloud - love the complementary geographic locations to Linode and that all new VPS seems to be newer Intel Xeon Gold 6136 Scalable Skylake cpus - finding I am using them more for Centmin Mod dev testing etc than any other VPS provider this year. Helps they have a generous affiliate referral payout to build some credits and their backup/snapshots + private networking
ImpactVPS - has been a surprise despite have free test accounts, their performance with Intel Xeon Silver Scalable Skylake cpus have been as fast if not faster than Upcloud and SSDnodes' on Intel Xeon Gold Skylakes for overall performance mix balance as well as offering private networking + fast 10Gbps networking.
SSDnodes - best bang for the buck for latest hardware for the price if you're willing to pay 12-36 months in advance. The ample server resources allowed me to do extensive LEMP stack performance benchmark comparison testing which I could not do previously over a very long term basis. Fast 10Gbps networking is a bonus too.
DigitalOcean - has been solid though snapshot/backups are annoyingly slow compared to Linode still. But newer droplets if you can get Intel Xeon Gold 6140 cpus are bloody fast compared to their older cpus - benchmarked here.
Awesome service provided by all three!
I used Virmach, HostHatch, Inception Hosting, Wishosting almost all year. I tested NetCup for about 2 weeks in 2018 and bought it on Black Friday. I use it for more than a month now and I am satisfied with the quality and price. It has a convenient control panel, there are snapshots, 1 Gbit/s network, 40 TB traffic, you can install your own OS from the iso, but most of all I like a very high-quality network, which gives 100 Mbps when using OpenVPN AES from my location. I have tested many VPS providers this year and find out what providers great for me. Most of them give 30-50Mbit / s when using OpenVPN. Only NetCup, BuyVM and First Root gave me 100 Mbps/s in diff time slots. Therefore, I place it in my TOP.
I agree. For example, I tested Hostclean and it was a terrible, so I wrote a review on it and published it on LET with all my proves.
My top for 2018:
Clouvider - I did not understand just how good a network and service could be until I moved to Clouvider.
Clouvider - A hero of the people.
Clouvider - Genuine hard work pays dividends and clouvider is a true example of that.
Ioflood - because long term stable.
Clouvider - Because the quality irritates the nagative arse holes around here who just want cheap shit that works most of the time because of dumb luck.
P.S.
Clouvider.
