    Not worth it.

Nonsense, it is always worth idling.

  • The load average is showing as 8 on my Debian 8 VPS, but doesn't seem to be any of my processes. Am I seeing a problem or is someone else hammering their VPS on the same node?

due of some abusers the node is in 30+ right now.

It's the load of the node you're seeing, so it's someone else hammering it.

OK. I'll continue playing, but I think everything I've noticed has already been mentioned.

This is a sort of "bug" on LXC (not really a bug but there is a huge discussion for it in several tech forums): the containers do show the load of the whole node, not just the container itself although in proxmox, there are given values to allow access in reality only to certain number of cores/threads and have balanced value of each core that a single container can use.
It's just the numbers on 'top' that are showing the whole node's core number and load.

@cociu Hello, I'm waiting ordered BF VPSes yet)

  • Hello @cociu,

I was able to grab one of your test VPS. The ordering process was smooth and after completing the order I received immediately the order confirmation email (16:07) but the actual VPS allocation took around 30 minutes, but the actual VPS allocation took around 7 hours (email received at 23:34) My order number is 8956594253.

A slight detail: I noticed the TOS page http://en.hostsolutions.ro/about/tos gives a 404 error.

One weird thing: I tried to install the "Debian 9.0 Standard 9.3 1 Amd64" image and set the password to "h429eZgfG92mTaH6YW" (randomly generated) but the VPS refused to accept it with an "Access denied" message. I tried to reinstall with this password, other similar random ones and even with 123456 and they didn't worked. But the "Debian 8.0 X86 64" image worked at first try.

I think it'll be a good idea to add a confirmation dialog on OS reinstall, and probably a root password reset function.

    Below are bench.sh results:

As others reported, neither noVNC ("Timeout while waiting for port 5906) or Spice console (tries to download a file of MIME type "application/x-perm-file") work. I'll also like to have a TUN/TAP option.

The backup (LZO /snapshot mode) and restore functions work fine and fast.

    Will report any additional findings.

    Thanks,

    Oseri.

  • I hope have some feedback here in this thread about the panel , features, etc etc. how you like the module interface , usage , etc.

    @cociu Here's my feedback :smile:

    The good ones

    1. The service is solid. Good cpu, RAM,network
    2. Cheap and fast
    3. For techies like me, it's more than good enough.

    The bad ones

    1. The overall experience feels very buggy.
After ordering the server I received duplicate of emails confirming my order and server details. In total i received around 8 emails many of them duplicate notifications.

    2. The website and ordering system doesn't look professional. If I was the Procurement Manager and I choose which company I will use to host servers for my 100 paying customers, it's difficult to choose your website for production server.
The website doesn't look professional. The product page where I see all kind of server plans looks very random. The product category and server spec explanation is lacking. This will make me think twice. What happens after I use this company as my production server? Are they going to stay in the business next year?

I know here that you provide solid service, good cheap and fast server. But the image your website and design of your product portrays something different. People will buy your service because they know you provide good service. New people will hesitate after looking at the website.
I think it's easy to solve this :.
    1. Update the modules for your backend, ordering system, website template, notification module etc.
    2. Go to cheap online freelance developer. Pay cheap 100 euro or so to make your website looks more beautiful, professional and fix the bugs.
    3. Clean up server pricing and plans. Makes it more structured and define clear categories.

    1. The OS template is buggy when I compare it with other companies that use same lxc container.

I had to choose Ubuntu 16.04 template to get it working without bugs. I tried many other templates such as Ubuntu 17 etc and it was met with random errors.
The error messages on the dashboard are also very vague and not clear " some error has happened. Please contact your administrator "
On Ubuntu 17 I couldn't update and install apps. There were other errors in dashboard. The graph doesn't show correct information. I had to reinstall and change to Ubuntu 16.04 to get it working.
My suggestion? Update all the modules to the latest version. Test the OS template for any bugs and it's better to remove the buggy ones.
There are other bugs such as the ip address was blank.
Error "Failed password for root" even though the password is correct.
Clicking on noVNC shows just blank page.
Other errors on the dashboard related to password even though I can login to server correctly.
I like the new panel but it's buggy depending on the OS template and how you do things in your server.

the same here , i was think is something from my pc. We will take a look.

once lxc is fully operationally we will play with kvm witch will contain windows too

Spice really does better as a console when you need better than, well, VNC. For the majority of Linux hosts, it's kind of pointless, as it is unnecessary.

True. I don't need spice or vnc. Just a good solid ssh.
I would rather have bug-free OS TEMPLATE and Bug-free dashboard.

Spice doesnt work for me, gets me a configuration file with tls-port, password, ca, proxy ip:port in ipv4 and v6
NoVNC shows a black screen where I can input text but get no reply.

I updated from the debian x64 image you provide to debian stretch without any problem.

  • TIP: If you're installing nginx or other webservers, be sure to change the worker process count in nginx.conf to 1 or 2(depending on number of cores)

Reason: The default 'auto' causes it to be 32 inside this LXC environment.

    Hello Let People ,

in the last 1 year we had many problems with Modulesfactory in auto-provisioning module witch caused us many problems , clients lost , clients upset , huge quantity of tikets .. etc etc etc etc. I dont want to blame Modulesfactory because until now we still use it but is time to change to avoid future problems. Many of you know hostsolutions.ro from the beginning and is know we have been very responsive with the customer support but this was lost in the latest year so i need to take this very serious and change this because is consume all our time. Is true we have grow much and we are still grow, maybe this is the principal cause for what i need to change this module , nothing to complain until xxxxx amount of customers , after this all was a nightmare with modulesfactory. So if i recommend it ? yes but definitely not for large production !

All this explained in the next month i will like to test some solutions for LXC and KVM and i will start with modulesgarden to see how is work , so we offer for free the first 90 vps durring 1 month . After this period your vps will be terminated without any notification. Durring this perriod we can reboot the node many time , limit traffic , change the panel interface from your client area , enable/disable some features, etc etc etc etc so you need to be ok with this.

NO DUPLICATED ORDERS PLEASE , WE WILL TERMINATE ALL VPS INVOLUCRATED IN THIS
NO SPAM , MINING, ETC ETC. THIS IS A TEST SERVER SO WE NEED A ACCURATE RESOLUTION

So here we are , today we put 90 free vps in the table with this config :

    LXC

    1 core

    1 gb ram

    50 gb hdd

    1 ipv4

1gbps port speed /10tb traffic included

link to place the order : https://secure.hostsolutions.ro/cart.php?a=add&pid=346

We will be verry happy to recive any kind of feedback .

I hope have some feedback here in this thread about the panel , features, etc etc. how you like the module interface , usage , etc.

Really thanks for all your help !

@Nekki more space for your porn !

Next round will be kvm .
