Sorry...
Oh speaking of promotion codes, I just expired the SSD32G for life one. It wasn't case sensitive and it followed the same formatting as the other Buffalo promotions.
We had "BUFPROMOONLY12MO" and "BUFPROMOLET3MOCM" as well as "BUFPROMOthatsallfolks" -- the clue I gave for this one at the time I think was something along the lines of free for life. Pay attention to BUFPROMOLET3MOCM.
So the code was BUFPROMO + LET +Free For Life
BUFPROMOLETFFL
Damn, I was brute-forcing BUFPROMO+random 10 chars,. This one wasn't randomly generated in list of 75k codes it checked in last few days
Wasn't even close. I should have started on day one, it would pay off
$ grep -i BUFPROMOLET log.txt
[DNE]BUFPROMOletn1
Haha don't worry, i am about the same as your scenario right now.
I never think about acronyms, but I think that "free for life" or "free 4 life" is part of them. I thought that it should start with "FREE" based on other recurring free coupon such as "FREE" and "FREEWEBHOSTING" etc. I also tried some with "BUFPROMO" but surprised that "SSD32G" is not part of them. Anyway that's a good one
.
Damn, I even tried NULL and UNDEFINED 'cause you mentioned that the code is somewhat "nonredeemable" of sort.

We're posting the "official" thread soon, adding more servers, adjusting the auto pricing deals, adding some more custom deals, maybe some non-flash deals and reducing the timers. I already said some of this above but I'd just like to repeat it now that more people are awake.
And I am just about time to go to bed...
For those that miss crazy OpenVZ deals Gullo bought back his $1 Nat VPS deal (the deal that got us our $0.95/year Buffalo servers from Virmach last year).
define soon please
So are we abandoning this thread already?
If so, can we request for this to be closed for us all to have closure...unless you all want to continue for yet another year
Well soon was supposed to be 2 hours ago.
I bet we can't keep it active for another year... in fact .. if we do....
We'll switch to the new official thread (for the next year).
Do you want to bet SSD32 for life on this ?
We can't, probably. Some of us are leaving LET.

I do like the fact that await.app announces the price via voice:
https://virmach.await.app/
I believe Cyber Monday is when all hell will break loose.
We were going to do that and every time there was a good deal by our script's standards (always) it would play a 5 minute siren but it didn't work out well with the test groups so we decided no one wanted it.
Anytime there's a deal over $20/year you should just play the Price is Right sad horn...
OpenVZ and the ability to fit infinite idling customers on a server is gone from the Virmach world. We have to adjust to the new reality.
Where will you go? Can I go too?
I mean we can still get pretty close. We had that $7.68 San Jose deal and that wasn't low quantity either. The problem is if we make it too low then everything breaks. We'll try again. Soon.™™™™
Also we had plans for "KVM Lite" offers but the code wasn't ready in time.
Some have gotten balls, others have gotten the low end spirit.
Oh, that was real?
Everything seems to become Windows Available after it's locked. lol
