  • Can someone help me with setting up and using a windows iso? I was able to link it and boot up. But setup was unable to find the data drive where to install. What am I doing wrong here?

Picked up a KVM4 and it's nice and fast :-)

    Thanked by 1Awmusic12635
  • How much time coupon for beta will be available(without ordering) ? As I more interested in the 2GB, I want to wait for it, but I don't want to miss the offer.

With how fast stock is going, I am not sure I would wait for a restock.

    IDE disk type?

  • Ordered. With this sucess, do you have a ETA for the next kvm location ? If yes, NY or Dallas ?

  • First round of testing and benchmarks done on KVM4 including UnixBench, sysbench, Nginx HTTP/2 HTTPS benchmarks, bandwidth and OpenSSL etc. Very good performance to price ratio so far https://community.centminmod.com/threads/impact-vps-nvme-kvm-seattle-launch-50-off.15498/. Yes I get a bit carried away with benchmarking ^_^

I love Virtualizor a lot more then SolusVM. This is the 2nd provider I have used that is using Virtualizor and things like custom ISOs are a godsend for me.

Well mark it as out of stock in the post then.

You even said more stock isn't just around the corner.

1/ Something I personally consider a bug: you inject the FQDN into /etc/hostname (easily fixed on my end).
2/ No swap at all? My other services with you have swap.
3/ I'm still in the process of getting everything set up as I find time, but I'm very happy with the connectivity and responsiveness. :)

My observation is similar to yours. Compared to the other VPS I have with vpsdime, the network speeds are extremely poor. If this is standard, it is not looking good (for a person in Asia at-least)

I think that's just Virtualizor...another thing it does is: When using a custom uploaded Debian ISO and entering the network info manually (no dhcp) during install, when you reboot after the install it changes /etc/network/interfaces and sets the interface name to "eth0" instead of "ens3" so you have to login to console and change that to get network up and running. It does that at another provider that I use whom also uses Virtualizor.

It's not a big deal to me but it might catch some newbies off guard :).

You should be able to set up swap inside the vm.

I wouldn't rule out differing OS versions, Kernel versions and TCP level configuration too between your 2 VPSes. I've seen how non-optimal TCP level configuration can negatively impact download bandwidth speeds too.

I think I figured it out. A few vms are booting not using the virtio network driver, even though the panel says it is using it. I fixed one vm by going into the panel and changing the network driver to something else that was not virtio and saving. Then I changed to back to virtio and saved again. After that I reboot the vm and it started with it correctly and the speeds were much faster

@Awmusic12635 it discount still valid? and it support custom ISO?

  • sinsin Member

Just got my Seattle KVM NVMe VPS from @Awmusic12635 moved to their new Dallas node and it's really fast, I love it. Also, when I opened the ticket to have the VPS moved it was my first time dealing with support at Impact VPS and I was amazed at how quickly they responded and got everything done. The response time was on par (if not better) then some of my tickets with Ramnode.
