Ello everyone, been a little while since we have posted here. Figured LET might be interested in trying out something we have been working on. This has been highly requested from us for quite some time now, SSD KVM. Today I am doing an open beta of it

Some details about it:

  • Seattle only to start
  • NVMe SSD
  • IPv4 and IPv6 /64 subnet
  • IPv4 and IPv6 RDNS
  • 10Gbps public and private uplinks (internal networking is included)
  • Virtualizor panel

Beta plan details:

  • 2 Cores
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 4TB Bandwidth
  • 1 IPv4
  • /64 IPv6
  • Internal IP

What I am looking for from you:

  1. Report any and all problems you find either here or via ticket
  2. Suggestions for improvements
  3. Use it like you would normally

What you get from us:

  1. My complete thanks and graditude
  2. Beta only discounts (must actively contribute i.e. submit feedback to be eligible)

Disclaimers:

  1. This is a beta, it is not for production use. It may start, stop or become unavailable at any time.
  2. You must pass a fraud check
  3. Orders are manually activated

Got one... good to see you jumping onto the KVM Bandwagon!

I hope to see good results... and good support.

A quick check does look promising... though a filled up node may not behave the same.

Any idea the approximate duration you'll be running the beta for?

There isn't a set time on it now. If we are getting lots of feedback or problems are discovered we will continue running it until everything is fixed. We are also using this as an opportunity to practice handling support for the new system.

Could always run one yourself ;)

Currently running ServerScope, will share the result when done (That includes UnixBench).

You guys really like your benchmarks. Based on the load of some of the vms 4-5 of you are doing it at the same time :P .

    As promised: https://serverscope.io/trials/aYoj

    Conclusion:
CPU is nothing extraordinary. Storage is definitely fast enough at 44k/13k IOPS (random, direct). Network speed is good, apart from a connection to Rogers in Vancouver - could be a problem on their end though.

  • Works very good.

    Intel(R) Xeon(R) Silver 4114 CPU @ 2.20GHz, 2 cores

Kernel and CPU Linux 3.10.0-862.3.3.el7.x86_64 on x86_64

    Operating system CentOS Linux 7.5.1804

    CPU load averages 0.13 (1 min) 0.13 (5 mins) 0.08 (15 mins)

Virtualmin installed smoothly and works great along with /64.

Cool! Signed up. Woot. I'll report in after I goof around a bit with it. Thanks!

Also can I upload Arch and install that as part of my testing?

It should allow you to specify an ISO via url

Not fully certain yet but it will likely be similar to our VDR pricing. With discounts available

I've been rather tempted to try out your VDS but I missed out on the deep discount unfortunately.

Any limitations/issues with running Windows (Desktop or Server)?
Have something to test anyway, would try that...
    Thanks!

FreeBSD 11.1 running zfs-on-root works perfectly! Install using an ISO uploaded from freebsd.org went smoothly with no errors and everything looks great (including IPv6!). Really nice experience so far. I plan on testing out DragonFly BSD later on.

It is not something we will be offering a template for at this time. We may offer licensed versions in the future

I am just running some nat/ipv6 containers on Centos6 openVZ.
The disk is fast, but the network seems like the biggest improvement over my other (then you) provider in Seattle. I have not found any issues in the VM or in the panel as of yet and everything seems nicely done.
Are you planning on doing this later in Dallas and NJ as well?

I got the latest DragonFly BSD release running with a HAMMER2 filesystem and everything looks good.

I'm really liking the panel, it's my first time really using Virtualizor and it works well. On my first dflybsd install I messed something up because it would only get halfway through boot so I spent an hour rebooting a lot and messing with settings and it didn't break anything :). I like it a lot better then SOLUSVM and the upload ISO is a killer feature for me. The network and performance are great so no complaints there.
